THE PRETTY DANIELLA AND HER NARCISSISTIC BILLIONAIRE HUSBAND — WRITTEN BY CHISOM IWUCHUKWU CHAPTER 1 Daniella Borges, hurriedly had to prepare her mom's breakfast before stepping out for a job interview. A good neighbour of theirs informed her of a Receptionist vacancy role at his work place. After passing the first and second stage of the interview, she was required to interface with the HR for the final round of interview. The interview was scheduled for 9 A.M and Daniella was just in time as she reached the office by exactly 8:45 A.M. The awkward silence at the office made her very bored while waiting in the lobby for her turn to get interviewed by the HR. Quite a considerable amount of time had passed before she inquired about Nathan Park— the neighbour who informed her about the job opportunity, but she was told he went on an errand to deliver some goods to their clients. Hearing this, Daniella was distraught because she needed someone to talk with to pass away time while waiting for her turn to be interviewed. Unknown to her, there were copies of the day's Newspaper on the table just beside where she was sitting. Reading was one of her hobbies, so she picked a copy and got right into it! Already into the third page and having a swell time with the Newspaper, she was alerted by a staff; it was time for her to interviewed by the HR. Daniella didn't liked being interrupted while reading anything but remembering she was there for a job interview, she quickly got up, adjusted her clothes with the help of a small mirror on the wall of the office and then walked majestically into the HR' office. Finding just a job, not to talk of a well paying one was an arduous task for Daniella. Her lack of the necessary qualifications automatically ruled her out of many jobs. The other available jobs required her to sleep with the superiors before she was granted one. At 19years old, she was already a fully formed lady. She was extremely beautiful, sassy, and the cynosure of all eyes. She couldn't walk down the streets of the Bergamo — where she domiciled, without getting numerous cat-calls. The undeniable beauty she possessed was a gift and a curse. An hour had passed and Daniella was still in the HR' office. Daniella, you have really done well! but your certifications presents a stumbling block!! This company hires staff with at least a B.S.C and you have fallen short in that regard. Please sir! I know about my lack of qualifications, but I promise to deliver on my role if I'm hired! I'm so desperate for a job immediately, because I've numerous bills to pay and I gotta take care of my aging mother — Daniella interjected, while almost in tears. Please don't be teary, I understand your plight; I've also been in that situation many years ago. Like I said, I'm still undecided as regards giving you an employment here. In few days time, when I've much clarity, I'd get back to you — The HR politely said while comforting her. Before leaving, The HR also gifted her some money to take home. "Wow! Thank you Sir! I'm externally grateful for this cash gift" Daniella said, as her face lit up once again. Swiftly, she took a face towel from her old-looking hand bag & wiped out her teary eyes before leaving the office. The monetary gift she received was so much that even after expending on transport fare back home, there was still some more money left. After alighting from the train, she remembered her mother's favourite meals for breakfast — Cornflakes and Oats, had been exhausted so she quickly went to nearby a grocery store to purchase them. Finally, Daniella reached home after a long day! She took a long breath before dipping into her hand bag for the entrance key. Rewani was itching to have her bath after a long and stressful day — but firstly, she went to her mother's room to greet and then gist with her. Good Evening, Mama! I've just returned. I really missed you and how was your day ? Daniella asked, as they both hugged each other. I'm very fine! I was quite worried that you didn't come back early enough. How did your interview go ? Hope you got the job ? Daniella's mother quizzed. The interview went really well. Infact, The HR was quite impressed with me even with my certification deficit. I was told I'd be reached out to in the coming days; I'm very optimistic that I'd get this job — Daniella hopefully said. As they were conversing, Daniella's mother gesticulated alot that by mistake, she hit her hand against an obstacle on the table beside them. Please, my daughter what's did you put on my table — She asked. Mama! I'm sorry for the collision, what's on the table is a cartoon of each of your favourite breakfast meal— Daniella happily replied. What! Where did you get all that money to buy them in packs? She hurriedly inquired. Mama, I forget to tell you of the kind gesture of the HR — He gave me some money before I left his office which I used for my transportation and to buy all those groceries. Don't be afraid, you know your daughter doesn't wouldn't do anything illicit or immoral for money — Daniella assured. Anyway, I'm very sweaty and tired! I wanna go have my bath and then retire to my bed. It's been a journey today — Daniella added. Miss Katherine Borges, Daniella's mum, almost lost her life and that of her baby while giving birth in a nearby clinic because she had no money to visit the hospital. Her husband, Barella Borges died on Daniella's' 3rd birthday and since then, the full responsibility of providing, nurturing, looking after Daniella rested on her shoulders. She strived, did all manner of brown collar jobs just to send her only child to school. Daniella's dream right from childhood had always been to become medical doctor. That dream was aborted as early as her 1st year in medical school when her old aged mother who was paying all the school bills, suffered glaucoma which resulted into blindness because it was misdiagnosed. With that ordeal staring Daniella at just 19 years old, she had to drop out of medical school, find a job, and now fend for herself and her blind mom. On a Sunny Afternoon, Daniella suddenly started wailing after sweeping the corridors. The wailings were loud that it woke up her mom from a deep sleep. "What's the problem ? did you hurt yourself ?" Katherine Borges asked." No, not at all", Daniella replied. "Then why exactly are you crying" she inquired. Uhm, uhmmm...... She then proceeded into crying further like a petulant child whose favourite candy has been taken away! At that juncture, she was then summoned by her mother.
