Twisted

I was totally weird out. It has been two weeks now and Liam has been super sweet that I would need an antacid or a vaccine just to overcome the light heady feeling he would generate.  Like that one time when I had just revealed to him my past, instead of bringing a bouquet of roses, he gave me a bar of chocolate.  I mean, who can say "no" to chocolate, right? Then the day after, we were talking about costumes for the Halloween themed party the pizza parlor will be hosting tomorrow night and we wanted to know what costumes each of us will have.  Tamara will be dressed as a Eros, the female version.  She suggested that Liam and I should go as a pair.  Since I have the old costume that I handmade for a cosplay convention, I mentioned that I will be going out as Carmilla from the Mobile Legends character.  He then butts in and says that is a good thing since he still has his Cecilion costume.  Weird, I know, right? I shook my head as I prepared my costume for tomorrow.  I know he said that he had accepted what I had become and was willing to try having a relationship, if that is what you call this dance that we are making.  I was just finished with lining up the red roses in my Spanish style blood red gown when the doorbell rang.  I smiled.  It must be Mr. Dreamy.    He did promise a theater night one of these days. I skipped out of my room and went to open the door, too happy to think of looking out the porthole to check who is outside.  My smile died when I saw who it was.  I should have checked before opening the door. I crossed my arms at James. "What do you want?  Why are you here?"  I asked with a raised brow.  He scratched his neck, visibly embarrassed while looking at me.  Is that supposed to be cute? What does he want anyway? "Um, Cat, can I come in?"  He asked tentatively. He cannot be trusted. I quite agree.  Even though he used to be my boyfriend, I never trusted him to be alone with me. "No.  We're okay out here.  What do you want, James?  It's already nightfall, you know." "Uh yeah, I know.  I need to talk to you, Cat.  Can't I come in?" "No, James.  I don't let other people enter my house in the middle of the night.  I don't want to be called a slut by your horde of fans."  I replied bluntly.  I know what they used to call me when I was his girlfriend.  I don't want to feed their lies.  If anyone of my classmates would come and see him go in my house, I don't know what kind of news will pop up tomorrow.  Good thing I installed a CCTV camera on the porch and inside the house.  Better to be safe than sorry. "Look, Cat.  Those girls mean nothing to me.  They are just arm candy, you are still my girl, right?  I mean those three months that you were gone made me so worried that something happened to you that -" I raised my hand to stop his ranting.  I've already come to terms with what happened to me during those three months.  Liam, Tamara and Peter were the only ones who were really there to help me move on.  This guy was never in the picture.  He may have been my boyfriend but he did not even think about me for those times that I had to think if I will die or live another day.  He was just concerned about his own reputation. It's time. I have been very apprehensive that he will try to assert his rights as my boyfriend once I came back but now I realize that there is no closure between us if I keep on letting him think that there is a chance between us.  Liam knows about James and he was very vocal that if ever he would try to get back with me, he will maim him.  No doubt he would do his threat. "If you are thinking that I am still your girlfriend after all those times that you didn't even look for me or find out what happened to me, then you are sorely mistaken, buddy.  You've already moved on with Janine and I have Liam.  It's over between us." My words had a different affect on him.  He suddenly lunged at me and tried to kiss me.  I was surprised but I was taught by my trainer to anticipate the movements of my enemy.   Don't let him get too close.  If he was, knock him out. Since he got near me, I kneed his groin and used my elbow to knock him down.  James curled up in pain, his voice carrying out through the neighborhood.  One of my neighbors, old Mrs. Winters peeked out the door and looked at us. "Are you alright, deary?  Do I need to call the police?"  Mrs. Winters asked while peeking at the still squirming form of James.  I smiled at my neighbor reassuringly. "It's okay, Mrs. Winters.  Mr. Colver will be leaving now, am I right, sir?"  I asked as James slowly stood up, holding his groin in an awkward manner.  He raised his pain filled eyes at me. "Why are you doing this, Cat?"  You're still my girlfriend.  MY girlfriend!  Why are you being so difficult?!" Mrs. Winters glared at James like a mother would.  These days, my neighbors were the only ones who took an interest in my life.  I was really happy that they were also there for me.  As if my parents are with me again. "I already told you.  WE ARE THROUGH!  It is over between us.  You have Janine and I have Liam.  We can move on with our lives.  Aren't you supposed to be happy?  You have the girl that you want and I can be with the boy that I want." "No!  You ARE mine!  I don't think you believe we are through.  You still love me."  James muttered vehemently before grabbing my arms.  I was about to whack his arms to kingdom come when a voice spoke up. "I believe that she said you are through.  You'd best remove your arms from her.  And that is not a suggestion."  Liam drawled angrily. I shook off James' hands and held out my hand towards Liam who took it.  He held it tightly in his hands. I am safe.  I am home.  I looked at James in eye and breathed deeply. "Please leave, James.  This will be the last time that I want to see you here.  You do this again and I will call the cops on you."  I muttered quietly. James glared at me before glaring at Liam. "This is not over.  Not by a long shot."
