I turned my back on him and started to leave. My shoulders were tight and stiff. Every single nerve in my body was screaming at me to get away from him as fast as I could. I had taken barely two steps when I felt a sudden, rough pull. Kaelan’s hand clamped around my upper arm like a vice and yanked me back toward him.
His grip was hard. He was angry now, and he wasn't trying to hide it anymore.
I stumbled over my own feet. My boots scraped loudly against the frozen snow as I spun around to face him. His face was flushed a deep red from the cold and the temper he was fighting to control. His jaw was clenched so tight that I could see the muscles jumping beneath his skin. His eyes were burning with a gold light. I knew that look; it meant his wolf was too close
