Hailey and I are running in the direction Stephen sent us. We catch a residue of Nicole’s scent letting us know that she was in this area. She was damn near in Howling Moon territory. As we get closer to my pack, I can hear commotion through the pack link. We’re being attacked and there is a fire in the forest right outside our territory.
“All vulnerable wolves to the packhouse!” My dad’s voice comes through the link. “All available warriors and fighters stand guard. Fire brigade head out!”
“Dad?”
“Warren, I’m heading to the pack house. I want you to go help contain the fire.” He commands. The fact that he’s able to link me and the pack from out here tells me he ran from Dark Moon in wolf form shortly after us.
“Dad? No. I’m coming.” I protest.
