Mistake

Both boys stood still as stones, Zeran had no weapons on him thanks to the mistrusting humans back at his camp. The boy in the pond had no weapon on him, at least from what Zeran could see but there was a long black rifle of some kind lying against one of the tents nearby. Neither boy made any sign of moving, each knowing that if they did move first the other would react possibly violently. So thats where they stayed, the raven haired male in the waist deep water, the red head on the land partially hidden behind some greenery. Minuets passed and the raven haired boy shifted in the water, his cheeks decorated with a faint blush as the young vampire stared at him, the young male's eyes almost couldnt help but wander down from the ravens face. they snapped back up to it however when the other boy spoke. "HEY! my eyes are up here." The raven snapped when he noticed the redheads eyes wandering. "not that i dont like being looked at but i rather it be by my choice when im naked." the raven chuckled a bit, seeming to find his words funny. "So long as we're at a stalemate... my name's Kai, whats your name kid?" The male in the water spoke pleasently, as if to an old friend. Zeran instantly grew suspicious. "none of your buisness. and im not a kid." Zeran snapped back, being more then a little rude to the naked... being, this Kai certainly looked like a human... but one could never be sure with Werewolves, changelings, vampires and several other Cryptids having human forms or looking human enough to pass for one. The Vampire shifted slightly on his feet, scowling as he continued to watch the boy in the pond who seemed intent on talking to him. "Really? well you fooled me, you dont look much older then 15." Kai hummed pleasantly, taking in the Vampires tense form. "your wearing combat clothing, though its pretty weak stuff, one good hit and your a dead man." the raven haired male scowled as he said this. "honestly, its like they want you to get killed." "they probably do..." Zeran mumbled crossly, his eyes drifting to the ground infront of him as his haterid for the humans spread through his body and soul, this he quickly realized was a mistake and he jerked his head up to find the other male out of the pond and pulling on a pair of pants. Zeran turned rapidly and ran back the way he came, towards the human camp. However in his haste to get away before the other soldier could point the gun at him Zeran had forgotten his pack, and along with it his map of the desert which included the location of the human camp. "oh f**k me..." the boy growled as he paused outside his tent, he had just realized his grave mistake. Turning on heel Zeran started walking back towards the ruins when one of the Human guards suddenly spotted him. "Hey Parasite! back to your tent. you know your not allowed out here after dark!" The guards gun was on him before Zeran could even register what was happening. a loud bang, a pain in his shoulder and the Vampire hit the ground with a GSW nicking his clavicle before going the rest of the way through his shoulder. The young vampire grunted with pain as he pushed himself into a sitting position, the flesh the bullet tore already starting to knit itself back together, his bone however would take at least a day to heal. The Vampire didnt get the chance to get to his feet as a solid steel toe combat boot landed square in his ribs. The Human laughed gleefully and kicked the vulnerable Vampire again, this time aiming for the soft part of his stomach. "You belong in a Cage you f*****g Parasite." The Human grinned wickedly as he raised his gun again, this time pointing it right at Zerans head. "actually... i think you deserve to be put out of your misery...." "Whats going on here?" The voice that spoke was cold enough to give a human freezer burn, the human currently holding a gun to Zerans head froze with fear, quickly pulling the gun away from the young Vampires head and turning around to face the oldest of the Vampires at the camp. Drogan McCarthy wasnt the friendliest of Vampires, the blond had played catch with a full 10 000 pound water truck the first day he was at the Human camp, catching and throwing it with ease to another one of the older Vampires at the camp. The Humans, fearing for their lives and possessions had unanimously decided to fear him and left him completely out of their games of racism and discrimination towards the non-human soldiers. This of course did not mean that Drogan knew nothing of it, he had intervened in enough beatings and threatening sessions to develop a sense of where and when he was needed. Vampires looked out for each other, after all no one else would, to most of the world they were only thought of as monsters... or sparkly romancing idiots thanks to those Twilight books. "Leave us Human." Drogan ordered, sending a threatening glare to the terrified human who quickly did as he was told and ran off. Dogan watched him for a moment before holding out his hand to the young redhead beneath him. "Come on, lets get you some blood, should help your shoulder heal. You need to eat something solid as well, your skinny enough to pass for a Demon." Helping Zeran to his feet Drogan walked with him to the med tent. "Thank you for helping me, healing from a close range bullet to the head would not have been fun." Zeran leaned slightly against the bigger male as they walked across the darkening camp, they only had a few minuets before it was lights out for the Vampire troops. Still, a few minuets was enough to grab a bite. "hey parasite! whats with the face? you miss the chance to f**k your latest victim?" The sneering Human doctor asked as the Vampires entered the med tent for a bag of blood. Zeran was hungry and the sun protection his last meal had offered was about to become useless, if he wanted to be able to survive the next morning and heal he would need to eat. It didnt help that pretty much every Human doctor in the camp hated them, mostly so the Trauma surgeons who guarded each bag of blood with a vengeance and would sometimes refuse to give it to the Vampires all together. They were perfectly allowed to do this, due to The Blood Loss Laws of 1902 which stated that physicians had the right to withhold blood and medical care from Creatures not of Human origin. Unless they were ordered to give that creature medical attention which included the sever need for a few bags of blood. "Our rations please." Drogan requested as he took a seat with Zeran at one of the medical tables. The surgeon scowled at him and very slowly moved to get the blood bags, mumbling something about Vampires and blood that probably wasnt worth repeating. The crimson bags were almost thrown at the two Vampires as they were yelled at to get out of the med tent. The two headed back to their sleeping quarters, drinking their blood bags on the way, drawing much disgust from every Human that saw them, once Zeran finished drinking the Human blood he looked at Drogan and sighed softly. "i made a mistake today... one that might cost us dearly if i dont fix it soon..." "then i guess you better fix it soon." The older vampire stated, opening the tent for the younger as he paused suddenly and turned to look towards the darkened sand dunes in the distance. "yeah... guess i better..."
