We had just finished searching the first location with no luck. Maddie’s scent was faintly still there. At first, I had been so excited and convinced she was there, but someone had spread enough of her scent around to tease our senses.
I was at least hopeful we were on the right track in trying to find Maddie. Alpha Samuel had been discouraged when we hadn’t found his sister there. We had tried tracking her phone, but her phone had been turned off and anything we could use to identify her location had been removed from the phone. We would keep checking in case it got turned back on again.
We had not heard from the rogues for any demands. If it was money they wanted, I would pay to get Maddie back safely. I wanted her safe and, in my arms, as soon as possible. As the trackers c
