We had been searching for hours for signs of Maddie. She had been missing for eight hours now. A lot could happen in eight hours. She could be dead. But I would feel that through the mate bond, and I wasn’t feeling that she had died. I was so pissed off at everyone, but it was nobody’s fault but my own. I should have forced her to come with me.
