Danny (P.O.V).
I glanced at the figure standing beside my car, it's her, Sandra. Her face looked scared, surprised, nervous, and shocked at the same time and from where I stood, I knew at once that she was alone and in need of help.
Tonight, I decided to take this route home after work, tired from the hectic day as i couldn't wait to get home. With my eyes fixed on the empty road beside me, I got to a particular spot as a feeling overwhelmed me, unsure about my emotions, I narrowed my eyes in surprise as I saw a familiar face standing by the roadside looking worn out and confused.
At first, I wanted to drive past her, but I took a second glance at her. She looked tired and frustrated and honestly, it isn't safe out here by this time so I decided to help. I drove towards her, horn to get her attention which was far away from her. At first, she didn't respond, so I horned again and this time, she turned to me and I could see her eyeballs enlarge in shock, her sight not leaving me.
"Seems you are lost," I said coolly not to draw so much attention but I couldn't help but stare at her timid but pretty face. "Do you need help?"I asked but got no response as she stares at me like she has seen a ghost.
My eyes diverted to her bare feet and shoes in her hand, and slowly, I checked out her dress, Nice!. Not saying a word, I looked at her face but she didn't say anything but continued to stare, Why is it so difficult to read her eyes? I just couldn't help but stare too.
As the awkward silence drew colder, I raised an eyebrow " Do you need a lift, I can help you with that". I spoke out to my surprise but my instincts which don't want me to leave her out here.
She glanced down to her feet and back at me, at first, she looked like she was going to disagree, well I won't be surprised if she disagrees, I am indeed a stranger to her.
"Don't worry, I can manage" she finally let out, her voice was so enticing to hear, it brought a warm feeling in me, something I couldn't explain. She scanned around the empty road, the night was far spent and cold, an expression of worry appeared on her face.
I sighed, "Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you, I just want to help" I asserted with a warm smile. Not waiting for her to respond, I opened the door with an eyebrow raised. She hesitated for a while but after a moment of silence, she came in and closed the car door.
"Thank you" she muttered with a hint of uncertainty in her voice.
I smiled as I removed my briefcase beside her, she moved her body away avoiding my touch, and obviously, she was very uncomfortable. I started my car ignition and I noticed that she quickly wore her seatbelt.
"So, you live around?" I inquired with my face fixed on the road. Slowly, I glanced at her and noticed that her head was bent low, a look of fear on her face. "No, I don't live around" she quickly replied meekly.
Is that fear in her voice? I asked myself as I drove, my eyes fixed on the road.
"Relax, you don't have to be scared. Like I said earlier, I won't hurt you, I just want to help, nothing else. So, tell me where you live and I will drop you off" I said to her.
To my surprise, she gazed at me and when my eyes met hers, a spark went through my spine, it was like an electric force, so magical in a way I have never felt before. I gulped hard as I adjusted my suit tie, "What is happening to me?" I asked myself as I sink into an ocean of confusion.
" I stay at the Simpsons Avenue, number 24" She replied calmly this time but her gaze away from me. I drove in her direction, the ride was silent as she didn't say a word to me until we reached her house. I found a parking space next to her house, parked, and turned off my car. From where I sat, I could see a look of relief on her face, she turned to me, and for the first time, she smiled, and that made my heart flutter in a way it has never done before, I stared at her as I found my mouth dry, indeed she is very beautiful.
" Thank you," Her words crumpled my thoughts. She picked up her shoes and bag.
I sat there motionless unable to reply, my eyes not leaving her. She opened the door and was about to get down but to my surprise, I found myself stopping her as I held her arm. Quickly, she turned to me looking startled, realizing what I had just done, I left her arm wondering what came over me. Her beauty is so captivating, those eyes, enchanting to stare at, she looks very beautiful tonight and I won't deny the fact that I was checking her out every minute throughout the ride.
"You are welcome" I manage to say a little embarrassed. Sandra got down, walked towards her house, and pressed the doorbell. I didn't drive away immediately because a part of me wanted to make sure she got in safely.
After a while, a young boy opened the door and they both walked in as I watched the door close.
I shut my eyes breathing deeply as I tried to think for a minute. How can this girl bring me such intense feeling? I don't understand.
Immediately, the sound of my ringing phone alerted me, I shoved my hand into my pocket, glanced at the call ID and realize It's one of my numerous girlfriends. It just popped to my head that we are going to spend the night at my apartment tonight.
"Hello beautiful," I said trying to hide the irritation in my voice. "Baby," she replied at the other end "I have been waiting for almost 30 minutes, I am naked and ready for you darling," I could hear the pure seduction in her tiny irritating voice.
Obviously what these women need is nothing but s*x and money.
"I will be home soon beautiful," I responded as I tried to hide the annoyance growing in me. I wonder when they will all leave me alone, I am becoming bored of this games, s*x and lies, I want nothing to do with it anymore.
"Okay baby" She said with a chuckle, "Don't keep me waiting, I am all naughty and ready for you darling" she replied excitedly.
"I won't beautiful" I replied and hanged up.
I rolled my eyes with a sigh as I shoved my phone back into my pocket. I couldn't wait to end things with all these women, their excessive wants are becoming too much and it driving me crazy. I groaned loudly, inhaled deeply and started up my car, taking a second look at the house Sandra walked in, I drove off.
