Chapter 5

Ayden didn't know what to think. According to all the history books on the supernatural, the Fae had faded into the mists retreating to somewhere where the rest of them couldn't follow unless invited. It had been thousands of years since that had happened. Now here one was standing in front of him and his pack. " So what are you doing here then?" Ayden asked, tilting his head as he studied her. Ayla's eyes moved over the Alpha first then his pack. They all shuddered under her gaze. These wolves didn't have a dark taint in them like the rogues did. Their energies were light and warm. She sighed and returned her gaze to Ayden. " I have come to restore what was. There has been a growing darkness for hundreds of years. I have come to make things right again." She said. A wolf standing just behind Ayden laughed and crossed his arms over his burly chest. " You! One little girl is going to take on all the rogues, the hunters and everything else that goes bump in the night all by herself? I doubt that sweet heart!" he said cockily. Suri shook her head. Brady always was a cocky male. His thoughts were that women couldn't be warriors. That they should be seen, not heard and their place was in the kitchen taking care of the family. The pack growled as the air grew charged.   Ayla glared at the male. Anger over his offensive attitude built inside of her like a volcano ready to blow. " What no response?" he taunted laughing. In the blink of an eye Ayla was in front of the male, carried on a gust of wind of her making. Her eyes glowed. Drawing on the power within her, Ayla hit the male open handed. A small amount of her power smacked into him, throwing him into the nearest tree. The impact of him hitting the tree was so hard, that the tree split in half with a groan. Before he could even get up, Ayla appeared in front of him again. By this time the pack realized the threat and launched their own attack. What they didn't know was that Ayla had erected a shield around her and the chauvinistic male. She lifted him off the ground with her power and smacked him with her power again. “ This little girl has been alive longer than your bloodline mutt!" She yelled as her power threw him again. This time towards his pack members, knocking them down. Suri gasped and covered her mouth. This Fae woman who appeared so young was actually thousands of years old. Just as Ayden was about to order his pack to attack, Suri stopped him. " Ayden don't. She's ancient and more powerful than you know. She can and will kill you all." She said. Ayden looked at Suri frowning and then back at the furious woman in front of them. Now that he was looking closely, he could feel the power radiating off of her. It made all his hair stand on end. He called his pack back and walked towards her. " I apologize for Brady. He can be abrasive most of the time but he is a good man." he said trying to soothe her.
