The world seemed to slow down as I teetered on the edge of the window, the triplets clutched tightly to my chest. Just as I felt myself start to fall backwards, strong arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me back to safety.
"I've got you," Daniel's voice said in my ear, his breath coming in short gasps. "I've got you, Luna Sasha."
Relief flooded through me as my feet found solid ground again. I turned to face Daniel, gratitude shining in my eyes. "Thank you," I breathed, my heart still racing from the near-miss.
'That was too close,' Vega growled in my mind, her anxiety mirroring my own.
