But it was too late. My moment of hesitation was all Tina needed. She lunged at me, her teeth closing around my throat.
Just as black spots started to dance at the edges of my vision, I heard a ferocious roar. Daniel slammed into Tina from the side, his teeth sinking into her shoulder. She yelped in pain, her jaws loosening just enough for me to wiggle free.
I gasped for air, my legs shaking as I stumbled away from the fray. Daniel and Tina were locked in a brutal struggle, snarling and snapping at each other with a ferocity that made my blood run cold.
