“First things first,” she whispered and opened her door to leave the room. At that moment, she heard the thunder boom loudly making her crouch down slightly and cover her sensitive ears. She wasn’t afraid of the stuff, but with her feline sensibilities, the sound always made her ears hurt. The lights flickered in the hallway and suddenly went out. Alicia rushed down the hall toward the club level. When she opened the private entrance into Night Light, all of the lights were out, flashlights from the bouncers were swinging back and forth, people were talking loudly and she could hear one of them on a bullhorn instructing people to head toward the lit exit signs.
