Alicia heard someone coming toward the door and moved away from it just in time for Kane to come out. She quickly backed away into another dark room in the hall to wait until he passed. When his steps disappeared down the corridor, she came out and looked both ways before slipping across the hallway again to resume her eavesdropping.
A frown marred her face because as soon as she pressed her ear back to the door she heard Michael’s voice.
“I’ll go over to Moon Dance and get Nick and Warren.” Michael said. “I’ll bring them up to speed while we’re waiting for your call.”
