Kane felt Syn’s presence brush across his soul and power that wasn’t his began to pulse into the binding seal through Kane’s hands. Words he didn’t understand fell from his lips in the ancient rhythm of some long-forgotten language. He felt that he should know these words, but the meaning eluded him.
