Chapter 28
After three days of feasting, and some love making in the lean-to, I couldn’t eat another bite. We packed the raft with provisions, not for a long trip though, and we planned on returning in the new moon for Keesha’s wedding. No doubt, the extra things we’d brought would help us settle in our new home.
Most of the band gathered on the stony jetty. In front of the crowd, Arrow untied the mooring. Beside him stood the little girl and one of the older women we’d saved, or who saved us, I might say. If we hadn’t rescued them from the Mainlanders, we might have gone south to empty waters. Instead, those women brought us here, to Sunset Island.
