Chapter 13December 27–28: Angie The front desk was, as always, helpful. I’d already spoken to them about the charges for the room share, so all I really had to do was stop by and turn in my key card. A few minutes later, I was in the car heading for the airport. Was I tempted to look up, before I got in? Of course. I knew Ramon would be watching from our room. But it would serve no purpose. We’d said our goodbyes. So I rode along in solitary silence, staring out the window, and was dropped off at departures in plenty of time to go through customs and security and all the rest. Then I had the usual long-ass wait for boarding. My e-reader was fully charged and there was a seat at a coffee shop within hearing distance of my gate. It would’ve been a perfectly good last experience of Argentina
