Chapter 5

..... "Bee" Bee" A deep voice called behind me and I tensed up. My heart racing frantically against my chest, my throat feeling more tightened than before. My heart doing what it does best. Fail me. I stood there, contemplating whether or not I should turn or run. Fight or Flight. Flight!! My mind rang. Fight!! My heart sang. And with that, I let out a breath, turning slowly and locking eyes with him. "Andrew" _______________________ His name sounding foreign as it rolled off my tongue. It's been five months and in those five months, I never dared to mention his name. My parents and Ava also paid heed to this. If I was supposed to 'move on' I shouldn't be mentioning his name at all, but my thoughts were far from mentioning. I stood in front of a 6'1 tall figure. A devilishly handsome one for that matter. I mean, when I first met Andrew, I thought no other boy could be compared to his beauty and till now, that thought still stands. He had glowed up, to the extent that I couldn't handle it, I was taken aback. His shoulders were a little broader than I remember, his waist trimmer. The white T-shirt he wore hugged his muscular body tightly, showing off his firm chest. His biceps and triceps were thick for his size and his inked veiny arm protruded as he held a red cup in his hands. I unconsciously moved my gaze to his face. His black hair always gorgeously messy, his baby blue eyes scanned my length and under his gaze, I felt insecure. His sharp cheekbones and a perfectly chiselled jawline, a neat shaved one. He kept his model face, blank, void of any form of emotion. I was going to survive this. "Andrew." I tested his name again and to be honest, I missed it. I missed the feeling of having his name constantly rolling off my mouth in different tones. I missed everything about him. His signature smirk I've still not got used to, his rough hands against mine those veiny hands that gives me goosebumps when they bulge out. His dark yet sexy and soothing laughter. His glares that gets me melting at the spot. His beautifully inked body. Everything. I missed everything. I missed him. Darn! I should have listened to my mind! Look at who's begging to come back. "It's been a long time." He spoke and I had just realized he broke the long awkward silence that I seemed to have created getting lost in thoughts. "Yeah, Feels like yesterday." I muttered the last part to myself but it was evident from his expression that he heard it. I shifted my gaze to somewhere, staring for a while. I couldn't handle his.... Beauty. "I didn't think, I'd see you again." He spoke and at his voice, I averted my gaze to him. I also thought I wouldn't see him again, but we're studying in the same university. Running into each other is inevitable. "We're attending the same college, remember. It's inevitable." I uttered, throwing another glance away from him. I couldn't handle eye contact, especially from him. His lips pressed together and he was in thoughts. His face and expression was blank as always. "Well it's nice seeing you." "Same here" I wish I could turn back time, where I had just found out I wasn't invited and then leaving. "Who invited you?" He questioned and my soon to be reverie was cut short. "Actually, I wasn't invited." And with that, his eyebrows frowned in confusion. "It's my roommate. She pressured me into coming and when I found out we weren't invited, it was too late." I explained. "Hmm" Was all that he said. Andrew has always been a man of few words and some times it kills me because when it comes to him, I can't predict or read his mind. He keeps his thoughts to himself and rather than telling, sometimes he shows it and others...... "I'll let her off." He muttered. I pulled my eyebrows to a creased at his words. What does he mean by that. I glanced over at the bar, wishing if I had just stayed in that spot, I wouldn't have ran into him. And you think, he's not gonna spot you the same way he did when you stood against the tree? Well..... My body froze, he hadn't touch me but I was shivering. He moved steps closer to me and with that my body tensed up. He was so close that his spicy aroma dominated the simple air around me. I could hear my heart beat faster than usual and the back of my hand itching to be rubbed against my palm. What's happening to me! Calm yourself down Beth! Take deep breaths He immediately sensed my sudden anxiety. He moved closer, his eyebrows frowning evident that he didn't like what he was seeing. "Bee, are you okay?" His cold hands made contact with my wrist, pulling it up slightly. I quivered at his touch and immediately pulled away, glaring at him before walking past him. I need to get out of here! I need to get out of here! Walking as fast as my legs could possibly move and rubbing the back of my hand against my palm, I moved quickly and within seconds I was in the bar, leaning against the counter and heaving a breath. "Doll face! You're back- "I could use that vodka, please." I requested quickly and his lips curled into a smirk. "Ah, Doll face! You sure you can handle it?" I rolled my eyes at his words. Of course I couldn't handle it, but there's nothing wrong in trying. Without giving him a verbal response, he takes my silence as an answer and with that he passed me a red cup with a wink. I grabbed the cup with my two hands, nervous, because it was my first time drinking on my first week of college. Not to good for my reputation. I glued my eyes to the transparent liquid in front of me, that I didn't notice the figure that came from behind and stood beside me. "A bottle of beer, Jay." He demanded and my eyes shot up at the voice's familiarity. It was him. He looked down at me from the corner of his eyes before switching his full gaze to the bartender. He handed him his bottle and goes off immediately. That's weird. "You're drinking now?" He questioned his eyes on his beer. I glanced down at the cup and then glared up at him. "That's not your business, actually." With that, he turned. His eyes boring into mine. "You don't drink Bee." "Says who?!" I shot back, questioning the 'authority' that said I don't. "You're not like that." I scoffed-chuckled. It's the truth, but I wasn't going to accept it if it was coming from his mouth. "What do you know about me?!" I questioned, feeling hurt slightly. If this continues, it would escalated into something else, something I know I won't be able to handle. But deep down, I really wanted to talk about it, talk about the past with him, let out everything I was still holding onto. I wanted to reconcile. He turned, chugging down his beer. He's good at it. Good at running away from everything. His jaw hardened slightly and his eyes wandered everywhere but mine. He was in thoughts. I scoffed loudly to his hearing. "Thought so." Feeling a little bit angered, I lifted the cup to my lips, causing Andrew to raise his brow as he watched from the corner of his eye. I'm gonna show him that I'm not the same girl from five months ago. My mind already made up. I took a swig of the drink and it sent shivers down my spine. Within seconds I felt this burning sensation at the back of my tongue and throat, to which I grimaced at. I heard a dark laughter beside me and I pouted angrily. "That's not funny." I scowled, pushing the cup far away from me. Laughter eminent in his voice. "I guess now you know who said you don't." He teased and I playfully smacked his arm to which he 'ouch' to, rubbing his arm and still smiling. It took a long time to realize we were smiling and staring at each other as what felt like Deja Vu just occurred. I'm not good at this 'moving on' thing.
