Chapter 12

818 Words
Two weeks has gone by, really fast, with me attending classes, doing homeworks, studying and spending the rest of the day gossiping with Kim or sometimes falling asleep while watching animes. Who knew College would be this stressful. In this past weeks, my thoughts have been divided into two. The first half has it's categories and sub categories, which contains the thoughts of school, work, family, Friends, life in general and food and the other half is occupied with the thoughts of Andrew. After unblocking him for the fifth time, Andrew and I have spent a good amount of time chatting, calling and Face-timing each other. Despite, Ava's warning, I decided to give Andrew another chance. As friends..... Nothing more..... My recent calls have been filled with Andrew's number and even Kim thinks I still am in love him. Am I? It's probably nothing serious. In this decision, I've also decided to remind myself everyday the relationship Andrew and I share, and not get confused along the line. We're just friends and nothing more. It's like a daily motivation to keep going and besides that, I get daily warnings from Ava and Mom, so I won't get distracted from the main reason I was there, To study-well that was my mom's advice. Ava's; was not to get caught up in the venomous web of Andrew Flynn Carter and Kim's; was to be careful with my heart. I told her about the circumstances that surrounded I and Andrew's relationship and how it came to be. I was currently sitting on the grass, my back against a sycamore tree, my face deeply buried in the words of Judith McNaught, with the blazing midday sun shining relentlessly and the blue sky dappled by clouds that drifted sluggishly in a gently breeze. "Chrysanthemums?" A low husky voice asked beside me and I looked up to see a pair of beaming green eyes glaring down at me and with that I smiled. "Brandon." I said in a chuckle. I glanced at his hand that held a chrysanthemum. "Beautiful" "You think?" He glanced at the flower and then to me. I nodded. "A friend of mine gave to his girlfriend and she regretted it. She's doesn't give a fig about flowers." My eyebrows rose, taking interest in what he had said. My gaze followed as he lowered to the ground, his body against the tree and beside me. "Well.." He breathed. "I thought of giving it to you" Oh wow! Would you look at that, I get a regret. No, don't say that, it's so thoughtful for him to think of me. "Awn, that's beautiful." He handed me the flower with a smile and I accepted also with a smile. I took a minute to appreciate the color of the flowers. "You know, these plants are special." He said. "Why's that?" "Because they are associated with death. They are poisonous and contains toxic substances, but ...." his index finger gestured up. "they are also good in medicines, like treating chest pains, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, fever, cold and also prostate cancer and are sun-loving plants." He continued. I glared at him in wonder. You know he technically said, the flowers that made him think of you is poisonous and associated with death!? Shut up! I scolded my inner voice. "You're a fan of flowers?" His eyes met mine and they burned brightly. "I'm a big fan of flowers. I'm an anthophile." "My dad, he was obsessed with flowers and we had a different flowers planted outside our backyard. He thought me everything I needed to know about flowers and their meanings. He would take us to our farmhouse, just to spend quality time with his flowers, He loved us less than his flowers." His eyes drifted out of reality. Was, would, loved. Those are all past tenses, like his father was. "Yes, My father's dead." Lemme guess, Cancer? Oh shut up! "What killed him" I asked, showing sympathy. "The very thing he loved." I frowned. That's sad. "He was outside at the backyard, planting new plants when a bee stung him. He's deathly allergy to bees, he knew that. He also knew that flowers attracted bees, but he cared less, his love for flowers consumed him." He detailed. I shifted my gaze away from him to the flower in my hand. A beautiful, but very poisonous thing. Just like Andrew. Do you have to make everything about him?! "I'm so sorry" I said. He smiled. "Can I show you something?" My brow rose. "What?" He got up and stood in front of me, his hand stretched out to me. "Do you trust me?" No "Yes" I said. "Then take my hand, I wanna show you something." And with, I took his hand and he pulled me to him. "Shall we?" He questioned and I gave a nod. Oh this better be good
