THE KING'S APPOLOGY

George left the dad and rushed back to his room.  Ugonma was wearing his bathrobe since she did not want to wear the same cloth she has been wearing all day. "Am famished " she said as said as soon as he came in ." In that case dear, let's go to the dinning"   " But am not dressed " he  winked her as he said " I will be the only one admiring you and I love you just the way you are "  They walked to the dinning with their hands linked together.  The dinner was sumptuous and they toasted to their union. The finished dinner, went back to the room. "I want to call my mum and reassure her that every thing is alright " George picked her up gently and stroking it , he said in a very cool voice "Can't it wait till tomorrow my love, I understand how you feel but I have been meaning to discuss that with you but am waiting for the right time,  moreover, you've had a very hectic and traumatic day. Your mum would ask so many questions and  I really don't want anything spoiling this night for us,cause it is special. Baby it is our engagement night " She sighed " I will definitely call her tomorrow please my love" She pleaded . " It's ok. I promise you will call her tomorrow but after we have seen my dad.  I will take a quick shower and I will be back ok" he gave her a kiss and left to take his bath.

     He came back to find her dosing off to sleep. He climbed slowly into the bed ,he bent down kissed her on her mouth, gently teasing her until she responded and clung to him murmuring how she loves the way he kissed her. He smiled as by now she is full awake. George took her hand " Don't cry baby please, say something, say you have forgiven him" "  I can't" she sobbed" I hate him" she cried uncontrollably and George rushed and cuddled her saying " I am so sorry my love, that I was not here to protect you, but I love you and I swear I will give my life before I let anything  happen to you,please for my sake, forgive him and free yourself please, remember you promised me." "If I forgive him, I do not want anything to do with him,I do not ever want to speak to him" she blurted out.  "Anything you say princess I will do, please don't let any one hear this and I give both of you my blessings" the king pleaded.  " I have forgiven you " she said looking directly at him. He blessed them and left for his room.

  "Thank you for forgiving my father and now my love I want to beg you for something else please don't say no" " What is it my love and king" she smiled reassuringly and said "Ask and it's done my love" George cleared his throat " My Queen,  please do not tell your people all that has happened to you" he paused as he saw her burrow crease and when she did not say any thing, he continued " If you tell them the truth, they will press charges and will not allow you to marry me. The humiliation will be too much for me and you and both our families.  People will make jest of you for years and my father will not survive it. Please my love,think of it and you will see that I am making sense " She closed her eyes and after some time whispered" Then what do I tell them, how do I explain my absence at my father's burial, why have I not called or picked my phone? Tell me how and I will do it but I owe them the truth, my love" she began to cry. "Oh don't cry, we will figure it out please but don't cry, I can not bear to see you cry please, a part from my family, I do not want anyone to know of your humiliation, for your humiliation is my humiliation too" she wiped her tears at the thought of bringing him any humiliation.
