FORGIVENESS

"Good evening to you love birds, I came before but saw you too engrossed with each other, so I left" the doctor greeted them warmly as he proceeded to check the patient. After some time he said she was doing well and to that the prince said " Phil let me introduce my fiancee to you, she is princess Ugonma"   "Wao, its my pleasure to meet you , your highness" he smiled and bowed to her, the prince now added " Phil, I will love for you to discharge my love now and continue her treatment at home, if you don't mind"   "I understand and honestly its no big deal , you can take her now with you" and turning to the patient, he said "In that case  my princess, I will see you tomorrow. The nurse will give you your drugs at the reception. "Thank you so much Doc." the princess said with so much gratitude. When he left, the princess sat up from the bed and with a smile that can melt even the devil himself said to her fiancee,     " Do you know that I still do not know your name" he smiled back and kissing her softly on the lips murmured "George" "What a lovely name" she said and added" I really would have loved to stay  till tomorrow, to be honest, I don't want to face your father just yet" she smiled as she said it  " I understand my love, you know what? he said with childish enthusiasm  " What?" she asked laughing at his enthusiasm  "You can rest tonight and see him tomorrow if you like." Then he add as he kissed her"I just want you all to myself" "Ok your highness" she said mockingly. "Really' he said as he tickled her and she giggled " Oh stop, please stop" she begged him.

George swooped her of her feet as he said" I carried you in here and am carrying you out" she protested but instead he silenced her with a kiss, he got to the reception amidst  visitors and the just took one look at them and smiled, he collected the drugs, carried her to the front passenger seat and they drove off. As they drove, Ugonma drifted into thoughts. She knew she aught to call her mum but things had moved so fast so that she hardly had  time to think, I will do that as soon as I settle inn she concluded as she smiled, "What are you thinking my love?" he asked "Oh nothing, just that I  aught to call my mum, you know, its been six months plus" she said as she fought the tears, he quickly parked by the road and said" You mean you've been like this six months in my palace, God have mercy" he folded her in his arms and kissed away her tears as he continued to apologize " Am so sorry baby, so so sorry for all the thing you had to go through but I promise that from now onward, you will only know joy, peace and happiness, I swear  "Finally, she calmed down and they continued the drive home but in silence.

   They got home, he came and carried her and as he climbed the stairs, he kept murmuring sweet nothings to her, the kind that only lovers will understand. Meanwhile the king who has been waiting anxiously for his return,upon seeing them through his window, sighed and went to pour himself another glass of brandy, he is drunk. The prince carried her straight to his room with out answering any of the guards greetings. He finally called on Mary and when she came "Now listen very attentively, you are to be at her beck and call, she is my queen, Go and prepare a lavish dinner we are hungry, while you at it, put a bottle of champagne in the ice bucket and you tell others, hurry it up" he commanded " Welcome home my queen" Mary bowed as she greeted Ugonma cheerfully. she really loved the princess and was heartbroken when the king treated her like a slave and warned her never to get an inch near the princess or she will be beheaded. Mary left with pure joy as she told the rest of the palace staff and they where filled with so much joy and she add" The prince said never to mention what happen in the past ever again " She set out to prepare a sumptuous meal for her two favorite people. The only sad person was the chef who treated Ugonma bad and gave her left over meals , he was afraid that now she is the queen, that he might loose his job.

"Would you love to take your bath before dinner my love?" the prince inquired lovingly. "Yes love' the princess responded." Can I shower with you," he pleaded like a little child begging for lollipop. " No silly" she said as she laughed at his puppy face" I will help you reach some places, if you know what I mean" he eyed her as he spoke" No" she said firmly as she ran to the bathroom and locked the door behind her. He threw his head back and laughed so hard that tears came out of the corners of his eyes. Wiping his eyes and still smiling to himself he headed to his fathers chamber. George loved his father so much and this action of his is shocking, he told himself, if this gorgeous lady can forgive and still marry the daughter of a villain, who is he not to forgive him but dad will have to apologize to my wife, he smiled at the thought of her being his wife. This time he knocked as he got to the door."Come in" the king answered quietly. "Good evening dad, how are you doing?" glancing, around he saw empty bottles laying around, he went close to him and he stank, he took the glass from him and drank the brandy, he really needed the drink  " Dad' he said " We have resolved the issue dad, but you need to apologize to her, ok?" The king sprang from his seat and ran to him " What did you say, son? how?" "Calm down dad, I will tell you but first you must promise me, you will apologize to her and give your blessings to us" "I will do anything to make this shame go away, God bless you son but please tell me she has forgiven me. can I see her to apologize?"  "Not yet dad, she needs to rest, the doctor said, she has hepatitis B. We fell in love at first sight and we decided to get married, that way, this crime will never be remembered again, and yes she has forgiven you, tomorrow both of you will reconcile"
