Chapter Twenty-Eight The following morning, I was taken to the same lab and the wiring harness was back on my head. They’d ignored my questions about when I could go home. I sat there silently, feeling strange with my feet hanging over the edge of the bed and trying to keep my mind occupied with something other than Janssen and my conversation with Arietta. Every time Madhur walked past the foot of the bed, I thought he’d bump into my feet. It was hard not to think about what he was doing and why they wanted me here.
