Chapter Twenty-Seven
I wasn’t sure how long I’d been in the room for and maybe I’d fallen asleep at some point, but I was starting to feel quite hungry when the door opened and made me jump. The same two guards were standing there as if they hadn’t moved.
The taller one stepped forward. “We will take you to have your evening meal.”
I gave a curt nod and followed them, glad I would be able to eat again and wondering if Arietta would still be there.
