Chapter Thirty-One I had no idea how much time had passed before the door swished open and light flooded in from the hall. I squinted in the harsh light and could make out one of the guards carrying a tray of food over to the small table in the corner. I expected him to turn around and leave, but he stopped at looked down at me. “You had to be punished, but you will be allowed to eat. Your tracker has been reinserted. It has been modified so it blocks your Talent. You will not try to escape again or your punishment will be severe.” And with that, he spun on his heel and strode out.
