Embers of Destiny: The Hybrid's Promise

The screams of pain and cries of agony in the underground basement were deafening, to say the least. Laying right there, spread out and chained to a stone bed in the center of a magic circle, was William Jefferson. Purple lights emanating from the runes and writings on the floor roundabout the stone bed, all the way to his body that seems to be undergoing an unexplainable change from the smooth skin of a toned and fit man to the statuesque and imposing body of a monster, covered in thick black furs as dark as the demon in every man's heart, and as muscular and chiseled as a body that appears to be carved out, showcasing a sculpted physique. Close to this frightening sight stood a man, chanting and weaving strange signs with his hands that seem to resonate with the flow of magic and further darken the atmosphere, as he raises his voice to a thunderous shout to chant the last verses of his spell. The purple lights brighten to a blinding white; the screams of Williams increase to an earth-shaking howl; the ground shakes and vibrates as though an earthquake is about to happen. And then, almost instantaneously, everything goes silent as the purple light disappears without a trace, as though it was never there. Only one sound could be heard, rising from the shadows as the full light of the moon shines in through a small hole in the roof: an howl, a powerful and fear-striking howl. And then it happens, a star as bright as the sun that signifies the birth of the new Hybrid comes alive for a moment in the night sky, then disappears into nothingness. Driving down the highway in a menacing and sophisticated looking Mercedes-Benz X-Class pick up truck, back to his hometown in Middletown, New Jersey to begin the next stage of his life. William Jefferson’s life so far has been very simple. Liam's mom died during his childbirth leaving his dad to raise him as a single father. When Liam became eight, he got into fights a lot at school and his dad started to teach him martial arts hoping to help him develop control over his raging emotions. His father also re-married a woman named Elizabeth who also had two kids. The marriage between his father and Elizabeth seemed to be more on mutual agreement to be the father and mother figure for their respective children and help them grow into normal and good behavior adults. Unfortunately Liam never had a good relationship with his step mother for unknown reasons. Which was why when his father died eight years later after he became 16 years old, the relationship between the both of them became more estranged. To make matters worse, during the reading of his father's will, they found out that his father had actually amassed over fifty million dollars in savings and stocks which he left to Liam. Liam's father and birth mother had apparently come from rich families because in his will he bequeathed five hundred million dollars from Liam’s mothers estate plus some houses in Massachusetts, Colorado, and Europe and had also given Liam savings from his grandparents which his father had half of the family fortune and his Aunt Mary had the rest which equaled to three hundred million dollars. So now Liam had a net worth of about seven hundred and fifty million dollars as well as ownership of a couple other multi million dollar companies all at the age of sixteen. This made Elizabeth furious because Liam's father did not leave anything in his will for her and her children when she was expecting to receive a couple millions after his death, knowing that he was from a rich family. She decided to take her anger out on Liam and started treating him rudely at home until he had enough of it and kicked her out of his house and also signed up to join the Army. Life in the Army was not easy but having been orphaned and losing his mother before he could open his eyes and also losing his father not too long after his sixteenth year alive made him more of a focused and hardworking individual. Eight years into his military career, Liam was given a dishonorable discharge from the U.S.A Special Forces after he refused to kill a 15 year old suspect that was later proven to be innocent after further investigation. The fact that he disobeyed a superior's order thereby undermining the chain of command, discipline, and the overall effectiveness of military operations in the presence of other soldiers had to be corrected so he was sentenced to two years imprisonment and given a dishonorable discharge on file. In truth, he was sent out of the military base with all his belongings and nothing more, which made him happy that he didn't have to go to jail. Deciding that he wanted to live a simple life from now and settle down with his girlfriend, Tiffany of over nine years and simply enjoy his inheritance, he parked at a flower shop on his way to her apartment and purchased a bouquet of flowers for his soon to be fiancee and also procured an expensive bottle of wine with a couple of chocolate boxes to surprise her with and announce his discharge from the Army. After finally finding an empty parking lot to park his truck in when he got to Tiffany's apartment complex, he carried the bag of champagne and chocolate boxes with the bouquet of flowers in his hands as he walked up to the elevator leading to the penthouse he purchased for her as a show of his love. Tiffany has always been the kind of woman that likes to spend money on anything that catches her fancy and always wants to travel to exotic beaches and have expensive vacations. Liam didn't really think much of it because he thought since he had the money, why not spend it on his girlfriend. On getting to the penthouse door, he Inputted the doors pass code and decided to tiptoe his way in through the entrance hall since he didn't see her in the grand and expensively furnished Living room. As he headed towards the masters bedroom, he could hear moans and grunts, sounds that are typically made when having s*x or m**********g. He decided to believe it was the second option and a nasty smirk appeared on Liam's face. The thought of catching her having a m**********n session with her s*x toys made him happy and really eager to see her naked after a long time. On getting to the master bedroom's door, the sight that greeted Liam was shocking enough to make him drop the bag of chocolate boxes and champagne on the floor. The loud sound of the champagne glass smashing on the floor and its contents splashing everywhere with the chocolate being scattered all over was followed by an agonizing silence that went on for some time.
