Night Terrors

It was around 3 am. I felt myself tossing and turning. I was getting very sweaty and agitated. My breathing was heavy and becoming rapid. Suddenly I heard a woman's voice speak to me "Don't trust him." It got softer and softer but I could still make it out as clear as day. My heart started racing.
THUMP, THUMP. THUMP.
"DONT TRUST HIM!!!!" I heard a loud cry. I instantly shot up from my bed and looked at my surroundings.
Aidan was no awake staring at me. He was saying something but I couldn't make it out.
"You're okay," He said. He started to rub my back and caress my hair. "Angel, talk to me what happened?" he asked I tried to remember exactly what happened. As I started to think back at the woman's voice; was she telling me not to trust Aidan.
"Nothing, I had a bad dream," I told him. He smiled and brought my head to his chest.
"I got you, don't worry," Aidan spoke softly. I laid back down and tried to go back to sleep,
Aidan was gone by the time I woke up later that morning. I could still smell him on me, on the sheets and hints of his scents lingered in the air. Aidan was so mysterious and captivating. I went to go brush my teeth and got dressed. I noticed Aidan left his shirt from last night so I just put it on but tied to so it was more fitted to me. I went downstairs to find Lucas and get something to eat. I didn't find Lucas so I just went to the kitchen. Melody walked me over to the gazebo in the backyard. I sat on the nice couch and ate the fruit salad that Melody prepared for me. Ten minutes later Lucas joined me but not before taking a picture and sending it to someone. He didn't tell me who but who else would he send it to.
"Did you enjoy the party?" Lucas asked.
"Yeah, right up until the part where people started to change into wolves," I said sarcastically.
"That was the best part," he retorted. He smiled at me and grabbed one of my grapes. I threw one at his face and then another.
"So tell me everything," I demanded.
"Aidan didn't tell you anything?" he asked I repeated the statement Aidan made last night and said
"That was about it."
"Okay well that was all true," he said. "You seem rather calm for just having been told werewolves exist."
"I'm not the freak out type but I was ready to haul ass out of here as soon as Aidan or well his wolf was starring at me," I said. Lucas started to laugh. " I want to know more about this stuff but I rather you tell me what the fight was about." Lucas's smile dropped and his eyes drifted away from mine.
"Please tell me, I want to know," I pleaded.
"Every wolf among being strong, fast and possessive has something else in common. We all have a mate; a soulmate or another half that makes us whole. Mates share a special bond and they make each other stronger. Aidan as an alpha needs a mate more than anyone else because he needs to maintain his strength against other packs and to also solidify his leadership. His mate is called a Luna. She is the male equivalent of an alpha; just as important maybe even more so. She is the glue that binds the pack with its leader. Aidan without his Luna is not so charming. Don't get me wrong he is an amazing leader and would lay down his life for any of his people but without much compassion or empathy to speak of," Lucas explained. I processed all of this but it was hard to pinpoint what all this had to do with me.
"You need to realize two things and I might not necessarily be the best person to be telling you this but here it goes. One, you are Aidan's mate; our Luna and two, you are not his first," Lucas said. I felt like my heart sunk all the way to my stomach. I took a few deep breaths in and let Lucas continue.
" Aidan might hate that I told you. I really don't think he had planned to or will ever tell you about his first love. Faith was a young girl from another pack. She came to seek refuge with her family years back. They were both seventeen. They lived very happily for some years but then she was a car accident and died. Second chance mates aren't rare. I think the moon goddess who is said to form the mate bonds, practically choosing who is meant for who knows it is too hard to go on living a life for all eternity if we have no mate. You are his second chance mate Hope and you are our Luna. Many pack members might compare you two but you must not let that affect you. You are going to have to be strong and take this role head-on," he finished. I was taking it all in. I was supposed to lead a pack of wolves and be this perfect mate. Even if I had a strong connection and attraction to Aidan, was that love? Would I ever love him?
Somewhere in the middle of the country, Aidan was in the middle of yet another alpha meeting.
"Did I f**k up," Aidan thought. " I let her see me shift and just blurt out some half-ass explanation." He was not paying attention to any of the other alpha's speaking at the moment. " I just had to sleep with her, f**k," he continued to think.
"Alpha Eastwood, what do you say? Alpha Kingston asked. Aidan wasn't sure what was asked but he just nodded and grunted: "yeah yeah, whatever." Aidan was worried he had gotten to close to his new mate before fully being ready to accept her completely. He was also worried he was going to push her away by not telling her all of his secrets.
"Earth to Luna, hello you there," Lucas said to Hope.
"Yeah, sorry I was just lost in thought," I told him.
"Hey guys," Sarah said walking towards the gazebo.
"Goodmorning everyone," Ruby added. They sat down on the other chairs and started complimenting my party. "We had a blast," Sarah said.
"I regret you not getting the chance to meet our boyfriends," Ruby said.
"You mean your mates," I said back. They both smiled.
"I'm glad Aidan finally told you," Ruby replied. Lucas looked at the ceiling then the floor.
"Lucas told me. I mean Aidan tried to but it doesn't matter I know now," I said.
"Well good," Sarah said.
"You're not scared or concerned?" Ruby asked.
"I'm not sure what I feel," I answered. I couldn't figure out what this all meant and how my life was suppose to be like now. I haven't been here that long how am I supposed to lead when I am still an outsider or worse when I am not one of them.
" Aidan will be a good mate and he is so caring," Ruby told me.
"How can he just move on? How can he look at me and think I am or will ever be as good enough as his first mate," I spoke to the group.
"Your incredible Hope and he is lucky to have you," Lucas said.
"You're so beautiful," Sarah added.
"Your really cool and outgoing," Ruby told me.
"I would love to have you as a mate," Lucas interjected. The room went quiet, Ruby and Sarah looked like he had just crossed a line.
"Anyways, Soon we will start planning your Luna ceremony and celebration," Sarah spoke to cut the tension
"Yes it will be so lovely Hope," Ruby said. Suddenly Melody came towards us with a message. Lucas read the paper and then told us Aidan's mom would be joining us for dinner.
It was now night time where Aidan was. He was having trouble sleeping. Just the night before he was wrapped in the warmth of his mate. Her scent mixed with his. He would never be able to erase the memory of her in her lingerie from his mind. He was closing his eyes picturing every curve, her perfect posture, and her beautiful face. He wanted to claim her and make her his. His wolf was proud of him but still annoyed he didn't go any further last night. They both wanted to tough what was there's. There one and only. He imagined getting up as Hope stood there in her red lacy set and picking her up, pushing her against the nearest wall and taking her right there.
"Maybe this won't be as hard as I imagined," he thought. Something was definitely getting hard but it wasn't the situation Aidan was in. "Maybe it will all work out," he said to his wolf. He finally drifted off to sleep with peace of mind and images of his love.
"Help me," a woman's voice said helplessly.
"I don't want to die," she cried out
"I won't leave him," she said softly.
"SSSSSSTOOOOOOOP!" She yelled.
Aidan immediately woke up from his nightmare. He couldn't see her face but he knew that voice. He didn't know what the dream was but he knew what he had to do.
"As soon as I return home, I will reject my new mate,"
