Give Me Life One More Time

1879 Words
Hope woke up in a beautifully decorated room. There were so many flowers and candles adorned by the window sill. There were pictures on every wall. As she looked up she noticed three doors. One straight ahead that led to a balcony. One to her far-right and another behind her on the left. She suddenly shot up from the bed and remember what had happened to her. "Holy s**t," she said to herself. She went towards the balcony but noticed she was too high to jump. She second-guessed herself at least three times but she assured herself it was definitely too high.  She started to yell. "Someone better let me out or else!"  After about twenty minutes of this someone finally came in through the door at the far right. "The door was open," A blonde twenty-something-year-old male said. She looked at him with a puzzled expression. "So I can leave, she retorted. He gave her a smile and shook his head to gesture no. "My name is Lucas," the male spoke again. She looked at him and then shrugged her shoulders. "Well, what do we do now?" Hope asked. Lucas walked out of the room for a second and then pushed in a black service cart. On top, she could see there was orange juice, scones, croissants, and fresh fruit. "Okay, the room and the service aren't bad but really when can I go home?" She asked Lucas. He sighed and tried to come up with a good enough answer. Hope could see the inner debate he was having with himself. "You need to stay here, for the time being, I apologize but you are safe," He told her. "Eat something please." She reached over and grabbed a scone. "When you say stay here you mean in this room don't you," she said. He nodded and grabbed a plate and added some fruit to it. He handed the plate to Hope along with a fork. "There are clothes in the closet and dressers. If there is anything else you need please ring the bell," he said and then motioned to the bell. "The bathroom is through there." He pointed to the other door behind the bed on the left-hand side. Soon Lucas left with the cart and closed the door behind him. Hope ran to go check if it was still unlocked but it was locked this time. She wondered if Lucas had lied to her the first time when he said it wasn't locked. It was still early. The sun was at its peak. Hope looked around the room and noticed the books. She went to pick one up and began to read it. Once she was done she grabbed another and then another after that. She found the remote to a TV that came out of the bed. She went to go lay down and watch TV but this did not entertain her. She was used to being out and living life. She was growing bored with every passing moment. She thought back to jumping off the balcony but then changed her mind. She didn't get a new heart just to kill it off just like that. She had lunch brought to her around the middle of the day and then was left alone once more.   Meanwhile, in Aidan's office, an argument ensued. "So you kidnap her just to leave her in a room locked away like a princess in a tower?" Lucas asked Aidan. "It's none of your business Lucas," Aidan responded fiercely. "We are all happy you finally have a reason to live again," Paul started to say. Aidan growled at this statement and punched his desk. It made a huge dent but no one cared. They had seen there fair share of damages caused by their alpha. "Keep her in that room at all times until I say otherwise," Aidan snapped. The man left his office. Aidan pulled something out of a drawer and placed it on his desk. "I want to give this to you but I don't want to go near you," he said to himself. His wolf had been eagerly waiting to see his new mate but Aidan told him that they have only one mate. "That girl upstairs is not our mate," he told his wolf. His wolf began to growl and howl for his mate. Aidan slammed his head against the headrest of his office chair. He placed his hand on his forehead and sighed heavily. Aidan was still wearing the same shirt from last night. He wanted to keep her scent on him. He closed his eyes and tried to picture Faith but the only face registered in his mind now was HOPE. I took out a piece of paper and a pen from his desk and began to write a letter. As soon as he was finished he slipped it inside his gift to Hope. It was now 6 pm and dinner had been brought to Hope. She was protesting to her server Lucas to let her go. He was very apologetic but didn't give her what she demanded. "I won't eat I will starve and let you live with that guilt," She said to Lucas. "I will force-feed you or put in a feeding tube," he replied. "Wait until you feed me a steak. I'll take that knife and poke you so hard I'll get a chance to run," she said. She meant this as a joke and Lucas could tell so he playfully answered back. "No knives. GOT IT!" He screeched while pretending to feel the wound inflicted on him by Hope. She was not 100% sure why she was keeping her composure but she didn't feel scared or in fear for her life. It was very weird how at home she felt. Plus she knew if they wanted to be mean they could and they could have her locked up somewhere worse then this big bedroom. "So where would you poke me?" Lucas asked but before Hope could answer they were interrupted by a menacing growl. "Here," Aidan spoke. He threw something square-shaped covered in a cloth and binned with rope to keep the cloth in place straight at Hope. She quickly moved her head and it hit the wall behind her. "Was I suppose to catch that?" she asked. Aidan had already stormed out the room. "Well that was Aidan and he says hello," Lucas joked. She smiled at him and rolled her eyes. He suddenly left the room with her half-eaten dinner. "What the f**k was that," Lucas said to Aidan. "I could ask you the same question," he argued back. "She is lonely and bored out of her mind dude," Lucas explained. "Leave her," Aidan demanded. "Look, man, she is funny, reasonable, and understanding," He told Aidan. "Don't act as if you know her. You don't know anything. You are doing a job now stop f*****g up before you end up in a cell," He said chillingly. Back in Hope's bedroom. She looked over the item thrown at her. She undid the rope and opened the cloth to reveal a blood-red book. As she opened it she noticed the pages were blank. She soon realized it was a journal. Slipped inside the 5th page was a folded up paper. She began to open it up and saw it was a letter addressed to her.   'My dearest Hope. I learned your name from your female companion the other night. I beg of you to forgive me. I chose to bring you here because I have things I need to share with you in due time. For now, I wish to know more about you. I am writing you a letter and would much appreciate one in return. When you get bored you should write in this journal I am giving to you. Write down your past, what you do each morning, anything. Write it down and maybe one day you will let me read it. I also write in my own journal from time to time.  This gift is mostly for you to hold your life in pages so when you look back you can imagine every moment vividly. Your life is precious. I want you to know that from now on. You are precious to me. You may not know me and I have barely begun to know you but I know we will become something more than strangers writing letters to one another. I truly care for you but it is easier to keep you as far away from me. It is much safer for both of us. In time I will make this place feel more like a home for you. I wanted to see you one last time. I wanted you to give me life one more time. So after I present you with this gift it will be a long while until I see you again. So please consider writing to me. I long for your response. I long for much more but I don't wish to say too much now so I will say goodbye." She held the letter to her chest and took a deep breath in and let it out just as fast. "He forgot to gift me a pen," she joked to herself. She looked around the room and opened every dresser until she finally found a pen. She was actually surprised she found one. Hope was not much of a writer so she didn't know how to start a letter or expressive with her emotions. She had only ever cared fondly for her parents and friends. There once was a boy but that was an old and long story for another time. She pondered what to say. "What do you say to a total stranger who kidn*pped you," she thought to herself. She thought she might as well start with the truth and go from there.   "Well, Lucas said your name was Aidan but you are still just my kidnapper until I get to know you. I want my parents and friends to know I am okay. I don't remember if you hurt my friends that night. If you did I won't forgive you at all. I wish you could tell me know what you think you need to share with me. Are we even anywhere near my home? I appreciate the nice service but I am bored out of mind and no offense but writing every day won't make the time go by faster. If you say I won't see you for a long time then why keep me hear. Take me home and come find me when you're ready. The journal is very beautiful by the way. So thank you. I really don't want to write to you and give you something you want but if you give me some yard time or something. By the way, you make it sound like I am never going home. I am getting anxious and I don't know what you want from me. I don't know what I did. Aidan, please let me go." Hope placed the letter on top of the dresser by the door. She was sleepy now so she headed back to the huge bed and fell asleep.
