Chapter 2_ Nowhere

ELENA'S POV.

Divorce. I said as the word kept ringing in my head, never leaving as it sank the more.

I stood there in pain, anguish, heartbreak, perhaps betrayal, and unanswered questions racing in my mind. What did I do wrong? What didn't I do right? I helped, loved, provided, and even gave him my company to prove my commitment but what did I get in return? Divorce papers I answered myself and let out a small bitter laugh, only I could hear.

I can't accept this. What would my parents say if they were here? I can't lose all my father and I have worked for, for a greedy man like Leo.

“No, you can't ditch me. You won't “ I said, shaking my head furiously.

“We have been married too long, you can….” I said with a shaking voice as Leo cut me off.

“ We were never married, I never loved you. It was your bastard father that did this arranged marriage of a thing, I only went through with it because of the wealth that came alongside it” Leo said as I was in a crying mess as the feeling of being used washed over me.

“ Because I don't remember promising you love. You were even too stupid to realize that you were played." Leo said.

“sign the damn divorce papers and get out. You are useless to me now”.

He was right. I was stupid and madly in love to tell the difference between Love and pretense. He was just using me.

“ I want my company back,” I said with anger.

Ha ha ha. Leo laughed.

“Are you stupid? It's mine. Mine to command. Mine to control. It's in my name all the money, the properties, the company they are mine, you fool.”

He moved to the drawer, pulled out some papers, and handed them to me roughly.

I looked at the papers digesting every single detail, finding out that a year after our marriage I transferred everything, all my properties, my bank account, houses, and cars. Name them. All in his name.

I have nothing left, no family, no property, only me and my baby. I smiled as I remembered the only joy I had, my baby.

Realizing that I have lost, been played, lied to. I fell on my knees and started to beg.

“Leo I have no one please you can't throw me out please I'm begging have mercy, please. Okay, I forgive you, we can start again please” I said crying on my knees.

“I can't do anything. The company now belongs to Echo, now it belongs to the love of my life to command and control.” Leo said.

“Your ex-girlfriend, but you said nothing was going on between you too, how could you?” I said as shock and shame washed over me. I was played, right from the beginning.

“ But you said, you loved me, you promised you would give me the company, making it mine after you divorced the b***h, Elena. You betrayed me. You bastard” said Jasmine.

“You bastard, asshole, you big ass bastard, betrayer, motherfucker asshole, asswad,” Jasmine said as she rained all kinds of insults on him.

“You call me a betrayer and you forget you slept with your sister's husband for her company and wealth, how pathetic,” Leo said with disgust and mockery laced in his voice.

“ It's a shame you are her sister, it was so easy to draw you into the plan. promising you all the riches and wealth in the world and you jumped into the plan in the blink of an eye, pity.” Leo said.

As she was now fully dressed she took her bag and stomped out angrily.

“Elena I have no use for you anymore, you can now leave as I have taken what is mine,” Leo said proudly.

“It was so wonderful playing with two stupid sisters. It is just that one is more foolish than the other and also not to mention the other, very good and amazing in bed.” Leo said while laughing devilishly.

“Now get out Elena I don't want to ever see you again,” Leo said with anger.

“ Leave. You disgust me, you are so gullible, so easily manipulated such a waste of time” Leo spat with pity in his voice.

I began to beg, as my life depended on the next action he was going to take. He took me by my hand and dragged me out of the room and down the stairs, my body rammed against the hard floor leaving my body with a burning rib. Neglecting my pain from my side, I began to beg as I had nowhere to go.

As I begged as my life depended on it, because I had no money, no phone, no property anymore, not even clothes, as he took everything away. He dragged me out of the house.

“Never want to see your pathetic face again,” Leo said with this he closed the door against my face.

“Please Leo, I have nowhere to go. I will die. Please don't do this to me. Have pity, please have mercy” I said, breathing heavily and crying.

Looking down at myself with no shoes, the side of my dress was torn, and my side was burning in pain as I was badly in need of water, food, shelter. My baby, what will I do?

I began walking down the lonely road, searching my mind for a place to stay. Pain, Betrayal, sorrow, and regret hunched on my shoulders. As my mind drifted to different places. I don't have any family as Jasmine being my only family has cut all relationships she had with me.

So engrossed I didn't realize that I was walking in the middle of the road, as I could barely maintain my stance as I was tasty and hungry and the sun was beating me without mercy.

As a car speeds down the road. The distracted driver didn't notice me until it was too late. The piercing screech of brakes filled the air followed by a dull thud.

I fell crumbling to the ground as my weight and eyes became too heavy.

A man carried me and placed me inside a soft and cool surface shedding away from the scorching sun.

I gave up as darkness enveloped me.
