I am your destiny
You have always been the light at the end of the tunnel, a lighthouse guiding me towards my goal of finding out if I’m truly worthy or not of your affections.
My love for you is unshakeable; my will to live never wavers. You’ve always had the power to change and shape my life without even trying. I know that there are some who would say that I am too good for you, but I can honestly say that this isn’t true. I don’t think I could ever find someone better than you.
In all honesty, I wouldn’t be here today had it not been for one thing, my past mistakes. I was so desperate to prove myself that I made bad decisions when it came to choosing a career path and ended up in the wrong area. This may sound harsh, but I hope that you can understand why I did what I did.
The moment I got to this new city after my time spent in France, it felt as though I were drowning in an ocean of negativity and self doubt. My dreams didn’t work, I was stuck in the past for years and now my family is getting older. Everything about this place has made me feel like I am losing my way and that I have no direction in life anymore.
It may be selfish of me to say this, but I wish for you to take me back home.
I know it may be hard for you to accept, but please let us go back together. I promise to make this right once we get back to Japan.
Please give me a chance, love.
Xoxo,
Katsuki.
Chapter 2
He had no idea how long he'd been sitting here crying like a baby. He just couldn't stop thinking about him and his stupid green eyes and his pretty smile and the fact that he wanted nothing more than to wrap him into his arms and hold him forever.
All he wanted was to fix things with him. All he wanted was to finally be able to kiss those sweet lips again. He missed those soft lips against his own. Every day since they first kissed in that small town, Katsuki had waited for them to meet again. It's like he'd lost the most important person in his life and it hurt almost every damn day.
He was so close to going home to Japan and then meeting those emerald green eyes and finally confessing his feelings. But that was before the accident happened. When he woke up, he was on the floor of the hospital bed and the only thing he could see around him was darkness. His memories of the previous night started flooding back as he tried desperately to remember where he was.
"Katsuki! Can you hear me? Are you ok?" A voice called out from across the room. He turned his head away from the light and opened his eyes. The blurry vision cleared up and he saw his mother standing by his side, worry etched on her face.
"MOM." He managed to choke out, trying to move forward to hug her, only to have the nurse push him back down onto the hospital bed.
"No, Mr. Bakugou, you need rest," she said. "Your injuries sustained last week were quite severe." She explained, walking around his bed. "You also suffered a massive concussion which caused you to suffer some memory loss."
His mother gasped. "But I thought...I saw him."
"Yes, ma'am, and it seems that the two of you are extremely fond of each other," she responded. "However, you need rest and you're not allowed visitors until tomorrow. Try to get some sleep."
As the nurses left the room, his mom ran over to his bedside and grabbed his hand. She squeezed it tightly as tears streamed down her cheeks. "What if we lose another son? What if we lost Katsuki?" She sobbed quietly as she looked at him, her hands trembling uncontrollably.
"Don't worry, mama," he said, squeezing back and smiling gently. "We won't lose each other."
She pulled him into a tight embrace and sobbed harder. He rested his chin on top of her head and closed his eyes, trying to fight off his own tears. For the first time in ages, he felt whole again. As long as he was with her, everything else would fall into place.

When he woke up again, there were voices outside his door. It sounded like they were arguing and it sent alarm bells ringing through his head. The next thing he knew, his door flew open and his mom burst into his room.
"Oh god, Katsuki!" She cried, throwing her arms around him and holding him close. Her words cut into his heart and caused him to start crying as well.
"I'm so sorry," she whispered repeatedly into his ear.
After several minutes of crying, she finally pulled away and cupped his cheek in her hand. "Why did you do it, honey? Why did you leave me?" She asked, her eyes filled with tears.
He shook his head, unable to explain himself. His mind went blank and he wasn't sure how to reply. After a few seconds of silence passed between them, he decided to speak. "I just couldn' handle the world anymore. I've been living in a box for months now, mom. I'm tired of feeling broken. And I don't want anyone else to deal with that pain, so I made the biggest mistake of my life," he said softly. "But I promise I'll try to do better, mom."
His mother nodded. "I know you will. If I hadn't met your father when I did..." She trailed off, shaking her head. "He really changed our lives. He helped us get through the worst times."
"Yeah, I can see how much he meant to you," Katsuki smiled weakly.
"Thank you, Katsuki," she said, wiping his tears away. "Now, come on, eat your lunch. We can talk more later, okay?"
He agreed and she stood up. "I'll bring it in here, alright?" She added, pecking his forehead.
With that, she left the room and closed the door behind her. A short while later, she returned with his food and sat beside him on the bed. He picked up his fork and knife and took a bite of the sandwich.
They ate in silence for a minute before the nurse walked into the room. "How are you feeling, Mr. Bakugou?" She asked, giving him a concerned look.
"Better now that mom's here. Thank you." He replied. "Is it ok if we continue eating in here?" He asked, gesturing to the door.
"Of course," she smiled. "Just stay within the hospital limits, alright?"
"Yeah," Katsuki answered, returning her smile.
~~~
Later that evening, as Katsuki lay on his back in bed, his mind was racing with thoughts of him and Deku. They had never seen each other again after their encounter in France, although neither of them expected anything different. In fact, both of them had already forgotten about it.
He sighed. He wished he could see him again, just to talk to him one last time. To tell him that he loved him. But he knew it was too late. He still felt guilty about leaving him. The fact that he didn't even get a proper goodbye from him had made him sick to his stomach.
He wondered what life was like in France for him. Was he happy? Did he still love him? Had he moved on without any of the baggage that Katsuki brought with him? He couldn't help but wonder. He'l never know because they never met again and there was a big possibility that Deku didn't even remember the kiss or he didn't love him back. Either way, he had to live with that and carry on with his life as best as he could.
For the rest of the afternoon, he laid in bed staring at the ceiling, lost in his thoughts. It seemed like his mind kept wandering back to that fateful kiss all throughout the day and it was starting to drive him insane. Every second he spent thinking about it, he could imagine the scene in front of the school. It haunted him every time he closed his eyes.
As the sun began to set, he felt the exhaustion creep upon him. It had been a long day and he was ready for some shut eye. Just as he was drifting off, someone entered the room, startling him awake. Without hesitation, he flipped around and glared at the intruder.
"Hey!" He barked. "Can't you knock?!"
The man who had startled him stepped closer towards his bedside. "Sorry for bothering you, sir. You must be very sick if you're sleeping in the middle of the day."
Katsuki stared at the man. The man was wearing an army uniform. The same one that was used to fight against him during the war. His mouth fell open slightly and he immediately sat up in his bed.
"It is you. What the hell are you doing in here?! Where's the bastard who attacked me?" He growled, getting out of bed and storming towards the other man.
Before he knew what was happening, the soldier held him back. "Calm down, sir," the soldier ordered calmly. "We're not here to attack anyone. We simply came to check on you."
"Check on me?" Katsuki snapped back. "What the f**k is wrong with you? Didn't you realize that this f*****g nerd was supposed to be the hero killer?" He questioned angrily, pointing at him accusingly.
"I assure you we didn't find anything amiss. Your friend has a very strong quirk and we weren't able to find any trace of his weapon or any clues on who he might work for." The soldier assured him. "There's no way he would be able to hide something so important."
Katsuki scoffed. "Sure, whatever. Whatever. Let me go!"
The soldier ignored his demands and pushed him back into the bed. "Sir," the soldier started. "If you could keep your emotions to yourself we wouldn' have a problem."
Katsuki gritted his teeth and crossed his arms over his chest. "Fine. Do what you want," he growled.
"We're trying to help. But you need to understand that you are under arrest. So please, put your hands where I can see them and let's go downstairs. I'm sure that your parents are worried about you."
Katsuki clenched his fists angrily but obeyed. The moment they reached the stairs, however, he stopped and turned back to face them, a sinister grin forming on his lips. "One more thing. That guy that attacked me, was he the only one who attacked me?" He asked, making eye contact with each of the soldiers.
The soldiers' faces hardened at his question. "Yes, sir. All three of us saw him. There's no doubt in my mind that you were the target."
Katsuki smirked triumphantly. That was perfect. Deku should have been the one to die today. He deserved it.
Chapter 11
"Please follow me," the soldier motioned for him to follow them as they led him downstairs and out of the building. Once outside, he glanced around nervously. Everything seemed normal and everyone seemed to be going about their everyday routine. Except for one person. There were two figures standing by the entrance and one of them was waving frantically at him, calling his name.
As soon as he caught sight of him, he broke into a run and ran toward him, throwing his arms around his neck and burying his face in his shoulder. Deku buried his face in Katsuki's hair and squeezed him tightly, breathing heavily against his neck. When Katsuki was done kissing his cheeks and nuzzling his head into his neck, he looked up at him and grinned, his emerald green eyes glittering.
Deku's face brightened at the sight of him. "Oh my God, Kacchan. It's so good to see you!"
Katsuki rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah," he mumbled. "Let's go home."
Deku nodded happily and linked his arm with Katsuki's. The two of them walked side by side, taking in the scenery around them. The sky was clear and the clouds were slowly moving towards them. It seemed like spring was coming soon enough.
They arrived at Katsuki's house without problems and once inside, he locked the door, took off his shoes and jacket, and headed upstairs to get changed into some comfortable clothes. Before doing so though, he grabbed his notebook, pen, and pencil and headed back downstairs.
Once Deku was finished changing, he followed Katsuki into the living room and flopped down onto the couch next to him. "So what happened between you and that soldier?" He asked curiously, propping his head on his hand.
Katsuki shrugged. "Nothing really. Why do you ask?" He asked, glancing at him.
Deku chuckled. "You don't have to try to act cool. I can read between the lines, Kacchan." He winked playfully, poking his side with a finger.
"Shut up! And you don' need to act stupid." He retorted.
"Whatever you say, honey," he giggled. "So, did he kill you?"
"No," Katsuki answered flatly. "But he wanted to. He told me he wanted to kill me and then beat the s**t out of me. So I knocked him out." He explained.
"That's nice of you!" He exclaimed, squeezing his arm. "Why did you let him? I mean, you could've just beaten him up, right?"
"I wasn't gonna hurt him. Besides, I was tired. I needed to get some rest." Katsuki said. "And besides, I knew that he was working with someone else, so it wasn't worth fighting him until he got his head out of his ass."
"Wow," Deku whistled. "So that's how you ended up in that wheelchair."
"Obviously." He replied with a smirk. "At least I'm finally rid of it. Thanks to you."
Deku smiled softly and rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "Well, thank goodness we were there when he arrived. Otherwise you'd probably be dead right now." He joked.
"Don't joke like that, Deku." He murmured. "If that bastard hadn't shown up I would've definitely died today."
"How do you figure?" Deku asked.
"If the soldier had killed me, then he would have been free to go anywhere in the world. But instead, he tried to take him with him." He explained. "He couldn't take him. I bet that's why those bastards were after him."
"Well, if that's the case, then why do you think it was Izuku behind the attack in Hosu?" Deku wondered.
Katsuki sighed. "I don't know…maybe it' s because he knows what happened to my father and the reason he went missing."
Deku nodded, still feeling confused. If his theory was correct, Izuku probably knew something about what happened at the school. But what did he know? And more importantly, how did he know?
"Anyway, I'm glad you're okay," Deku told him. "I guess it's my turn to tell you what happened at the hospital."
"You don't have to." Katsuki objected.
"Nonsense. I never got to tell you last night so I feel bad now," Deku insisted. "Besides, I don't think you'll believe me anyway. It'll make things much better if I get it all off my chest."
"Alright," Katsuki relented with another sigh. "Go ahead and start talking."
"Well," Deku started, fidgeting awkwardly on the couch. "Last night you told me that you thought that something was wrong at the school. And then a while later, you called me and told me that someone from UA had come to our dorm room to pick you up." He continued. "Then this morning you came into school looking like you haven't slept for years. That's the most suspicious thing about it. You also didn't seem happy or excited about it either." He added before he could stop himself.
"It's not weird that I'm angry." Katsuki countered quickly. "Look. I know that I shouldn't have left that day, but I just needed to clear my head. Now, everything is fine. So drop it." He urged. "Just because someone picked me up doesn't mean that I was picked up by the villains."
"I know," Deku reassured him quietly. "But you don't even know for sure, do you?" He added.
"No. I don't," Katsuki agreed. "But there' s nothing we can do about it now anyways. I don't have time for stupid investigations and I certainly won't waste my energy worrying about that. Just…please don't bring it up again." He begged with pleading eyes.
A soft smile spread across Deku's features and he nodded. "Alright, I won't. As long as you promise to tell me if anything happens."
Katsuki gave an exasperated sigh. "Fine."
"Good." He said. "Because I'm kinda scared that something might happen." He admitted.
"What?" Katsuki frowned.
"It's just...you and that villain seemed pretty close." He confessed. "Do you think he has something to do with it?" He wondered.
"Of course not!" Katsuki barked immediately. "I don't trust him, he's too cocky, and I know he won't hurt me."
Deku raised an eyebrow at him. "Really? What makes you so sure? He seems like the type to kidnap and torture innocent people. He might even want you to join him. Then he'll use you to achieve his own personal goal." He reasoned. "That could very well be the motive behind him attacking us in Hosu. After all, if he's working with the League, then it means that the League might want to recruit him as well." He concluded, raising his brows.
"Are you crazy?! Of course I wouldn't join him! I hate him! No way would I ever work with someone like him!" Katsuki growled, glaring at him angrily.
"But-"
"No buts!" Katsuki cut him off. "He tried to kill me. I refuse to associate myself with him. Even though he is a villain and probably hates me just as much as he hated All Might, I don't care. Not anymore." He added with a small smile, leaning forward and wrapping his arms around Deku' s shoulders.
Deku wrapped his arms around him too and laid his head against his chest. "Thank you for letting me explain, Kacchan." He whispered. "I know I sometimes worry you by saying all of these things, but I hope you know that they aren't true. It's just that I can' t help but think about the worst case scenarios, especially since we know for sure that they are villains and that All Might is their leader."
Katsuki pulled away from him slightly and turned his gaze downward. "You know, it's kind of funny, isn't it?" He muttered.
"Huh?" Deku questioned.
"Ever since All Might retired, almost every villain organization has gone underground. And the only ones who remain are the ones under our radar. But I guess in a sense it's good that they have gone underground. They've become completely unimportant to society, just like the number one hero. They don't exist, and they won' t for the foreseeable future." He continued.
"Yeah, I guess…" Deku mumbled in agreement.
The two sat in silence for a few minutes before Deku spoke up again. "We should probably get going. Lunch will be over soon." He pointed out.
Katsuki groaned but stood up nonetheless. "Let's go, nerd."
The two made their way through the halls and finally reached the cafeteria, where everyone sat in a line facing each other.
"There you guys are!" Uraraka said happily. "I thought you guys weren't gonna show up, you both look like dead men walking." She commented.
"We weren't, until Deku reminded me," Katsuki answered sarcastically.
She shrugged her shoulders, smiling slightly. "Anyways, what took you guys so long?" She asked curiously.
"He was worried that the guy who hit him was still following us, but I convinced him otherwise." Katsuki answered.
"Oh." She chuckled nervously. "I see. Well, I hope you guys enjoyed your meal, because I made extra." She smiled sheepishly as she handed them each a tray.
"Thanks Uraraka." Deku thanked her as he grabbed his breakfast. "This looks amazing. Where did you learn how to cook like this?" He asked.
"Well, I've always liked cooking, so Mom taught me a lot of recipes and stuff when she found out I wanted to be a hero." She explained. "She's really proud of me, but I think that she's a little bit stressed out about everything lately. So I decided to help her out with whatever she needs and try to cheer her up whenever possible. So that's what I'm doing now." She continued.
"Wow. That sounds like it took a lot of courage." Deku stated.
"And it does! A lot." She giggled shyly. "So…how about you guys? Did you enjoy your lunch? Is it any good?"
"Actually, it was really good," Katsuki informed her. "You know Uraraka, you may actually have some talent for cooking after all."
Uraraka blushed. "Tha-"
"Don't mind him," Midoriya interrupted. "His compliments are all lies."
"Hey!" Katsuki protested.
"I'd say so." Uraraka laughed. "You're just jealous cause I made extra today!"
"Jealous!? Of what?!" Katsuki demanded.
"Your face."
"My…my face? Why? Am I not attractive enough?" Katsuki questioned.
"No, it's not that." Deku interjected. "It's just because of how you looked like yesterday when you were attacked by that guy." He revealed.
"Wait, so you saw that guy too?" Uraraka gasped. "Were you guys friends with him? Do you know why he attacked Kacchan?" She interrogated.
Katsuki sighed impatiently, irritated by the sudden attention. "Yes, yes we were. And no I didn't know him. He wasn't supposed to attack me, remember? He was trying to catch me off guard. If you ask me, I don't think he was a threat." He finished.
"Why wouldn't you believe that he was a threat?" Deku challenged.
"If he were a real threat, I'd already be dead, wouldn't I?" Katsuki retorted irritably.
"Maybe, maybe not. Maybe he just wanted revenge. Or maybe he had another reason." Deku suggested.
"Like what?"
"Well, the fact that it was three against one and you still won, doesn't really make him seem like a bad person, does it?" He pointed out. "It was just that he lost his temper when he got attacked and reacted without thinking clearly."
"You don't know that for certain." Katsuki argued.
"Well, I do know it for certain. He attacked us both without warning, and he also saved me during the rescue mission. You said yourself that you trusted him and he chose not to harm you." He reasoned.
"Still doesn't prove a thing. Plus I told you he was a villain."
"I didn't say you had to believe him completely. If you did, then you'd never have allowed me to talk to him in the first place. But I think that you're being unreasonable about everything right now. We don't know anything about him yet and that' s why you need to relax." He scolded him.
Katsuki let out an exasperated sigh. "Alright fine." He grumbled reluctantly. "Now eat before the food gets cold."
Deku rolled his eyes. "Whatever."
Chapter 4
"Come on man, wake up."
Katsuki groaned, slowly opening his eyes to glare at his alarm clock. "Five more minutes." He mumbled annoyedly.
"It's ten already."
He opened his eyes fully to glare at whoever was waking him up. He quickly shot up on the bed and glared furiously at his annoying roommate. "What time is it? What's the matter?" He questioned, sitting on the edge of the bed while yawning.
"It's almost nine already." His friend said with an amused smirk.
"What?"
"We should probably start getting ready." He remarked.
"For what?" Katsuki asked.
"To go to school together."
Katsuki furrowed his brows. "School? Why?" He asked confusedly.
"Because, apparently you're gonna miss a whole week's worth of classes if you don't hurry up and get dressed."
"A week's worth?" Katsuki repeated, gaping at him in shock. "Are you serious? Are you insane? It doesn't even take ten minutes to get ready, how am I supposed to go back to sleep when my body's screaming at me to get up!?" He exclaimed.
Deku stared at him for a moment before letting out a small chuckle. "Calm down, Kacchan." He said calmly, placing a hand on Katsuki's shoulder. "Just wait until after school and then we'll figure out what to do. We should probably start heading to class anyways. We're the last ones here, so I don't want to be late." He said.
"Then hurry up and get changed." Katsuki snapped.
Midoriya ignored his comment and headed towards the door, leaving Katsuki in a state of bewilderment. As he waited for his friend to come back in, he began pacing across the room. He ran a hand through his hair roughly. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest as he tried to calm himself down. He knew that he shouldn't be so worked up over something so stupid, but he couldn't help it. He felt like he was losing control of his emotions and he hated it. He hated feeling weak and helpless. He hated feeling like he needed someone else to save him. He hated it so much that he couldn't bear to even think of it.
After a couple of minutes, his friend walked back into the room. "Kacchan, you can stop pacing." He smirked.
"Shut up…" Katsuki muttered. Then a sudden idea came to his mind. "Hey, wait a minute."
His friend raised a brow questioningly. "Hmm?"
"Do you still have my old jacket?"
Midoriya shook his head. "No, I don't think so. I threw it away when you dropped it." He responded.
"But there's still a chance you might've kept it." Katsuki insisted as he started rummaging through his closet.
"Uh, yeah, you can keep looking. I'll just put it away in our closet instead." Deku replied, grabbing the jacket from the chair and putting it on.
Katsuki smiled victoriously, causing his friend to raise a quizzical eyebrow at him. "Huh? What was that for?" He asked curiously.
"Nothing, nothing…" Katsuki trailed off nonchalantly, pretending to look around his bedroom for his other shoe.
After a few more seconds of silence, he suddenly spoke again. "Oh, I found it!" He exclaimed happily.
