Katty blinked her eyes open and shook herself awake.
God, she was stiff. Her neck hurt. Back, too.
Blinked again and as her eyes barely focused.
Was she sitting on the floor, against the wall?
Had she slept here all night?
That might make a body sore.
Why on earth?
She faced the kitchen. A chair lay on its side and Bea was nowhere to be seen.
“Bea?” She struggled to get up. Hurt everywhere—especially her neck and back. Slowly, she turned her head left and right, bending, stretching.
The room started to spin, so she slid back down on the floor.
If there was anything still in her stomach, it threatened a reappearance.
She blew out a breath, tried to calm herself.
