Chapter 8

To say the meeting was boring would be an understatement. Both father in laws and my grandparents were there along with an elder from both species. Twenty minutes, felt like years. Ugh! Is all I could say about it. The elders droned on and on that werewolves and vampires were never meant to mix with each other. After a good hour of them bickering, I had just about enough with it. I cleared my throat to get their attention, but that didn't work. I spoke up, but was ignored. I growled low and slammed my hand down on the table, the sound echoing in the now quiet room. "Shut the f**k up! Listen, this is the 21st century. My mother was a werewolf and my father a vampire. The Goddess, whom may I remind you, is the creator of both vampires and werewolves, gave me two mates. I could have chosen one or the other, but no. I chose both because it felt right. You old geezers are stuck in the past when we were at war. That's been settled and now we help one another when we can or if it's needed. Now, I say we remove the border between our lands and allow both species to share one territory ruled by the three of us." I placed my hands on Simon and Rowan's shoulders. "The Vampire King and Alpha Titus here can help us with the most important things we need to know about ruling both species. If you geezers don't like it, you can stuff it where the sun don't shine. We are now, you are then. Get over it." I watched as everyone stared at me in utter shock. No one spoke up against elders unless they were elders themselves. The elders glared at me, but I knew I was right and they were wrong. I'm living proof that wolves and vampires could get along, and even be mates. "I object to this." The wolf elder growled. The vampire elder rolled his eyes. "She has a point Ed. I say we at least give--" "Never! You vampires are vile creatures! I will not taint werewolf land anymore with you leeches!" I felt my eye twitch. I was over my limit with these old f***s. "ENOUGH!" I yelled, that same power as before rushing forward, making everyone but Rowan and Simon submit to me. "I am done with you, you shaggy old mutt!" Power surged from me again, forcing only the wolf elder, to lower his head more. "Leave! If you cannot be civil here in this meeting than you are not welcome here!" I heard the elder whimper and get up to leave. I could tell his wolf's tail was between it's legs. It was like I could see it. It looked old and weak with age. It's once black fur now covered with greying spots. Looked at Alpha Titus and there, his wolf stood head low, but still strong with his deep brown fur. I felt Rowan and Simon grab my hands, giving them a small squeeze. I looked at Rowan, his solid black wolf looking right back at me. He nodded and looked back toward the pain the others were feeling because of me. I didn't know how to bring the power back by just will alone, so I stepped back again and visibly watched the weight removed from everyone. "Angelina Valentine;" the Vampire King said. I looked at him. "I submit to you. You are henceforth the ruler alongside my son, of the vampire clan I reigned over for many years. Guide them well." He knelt down in front of me. Alpha Titus, who had already passed the pack down to Rowan, nodded and knelt down beside the now past King. My grandmother smiled with pride and my grandfather gave me a small nod. The vampire elder stood and held out his hand to me. I took it and shook it once. "I'm sure you three will do great in leading the two species." He gave me a low bow and left the room. It was not an hour later that I was standing at the border that stopped everyone from crossing. I looked at the previous king. "Shed your blood, the three of you." I sliced my wrist while standing with one foot in each territory. Simon and Rowan doing the same. "I hereby relinquish this border in the name of, state your name, ruler of, Spine Clan and Silver Dagger pack." My blood dripped onto the grass. "I hereby relinquish this border in the name of, Angelina Valentine, ruler of Spine Clan and Silver Dagger pack." Simon quoted the same as well as Rowan. I felt the border drop and blend with the vampire territory, becoming the biggest territory in all of Canada. Vampires and werewolves came out of the trees, feeling that the border was gone. Some looked confused, some angry. While, by my count, five people found their mate to be in another species. "Everyone!" I called out. Thousands of eyes looked at me. "There will be a full moon run tonight! Join me at 9 pm tonight and we will run along the borders!" The rest of the day was spent learning about packs and clans that are allied to us. I was warned that some may pull back from being allies until they felt that they were safe and trusted us. That was something that I was expecting to happen. "We need to talk." My wolf said. "What's wrong?" I asked her. She sounded like there was something wrong and sounded afraid. "We cannot shift tonight. At least not a full shift. A half shift is what I'm able to give you. Please, don't be mad with me. I am in the middle of changing and it will take a few days to complete. If the Goddess give us her blessing, it can be done before the run." "What do you mean, you're changing?" "Remember I told you that if you chose Simon, I would disappear to the back of your mind only to be used as a tool, and if you chose Rowan, I would gain the powers of a vampire alongside a Luna. You chose both of them, so I am changing to be better for both species. I am growing bigger, getting stronger as we speak. My fur is changing." I quickly excused myself and headed to a bathroom. I looked in the mirror and there, just like before during the meeting, I could see her. She was growing bigger in size and gaining more muscle. It was slow, but noticable. There was something else though. She said her fur was changing. I could see it, and my Goddess, she was beautiful!
