An alliance with Dusk Claw was signed and now we are helping them fight off rogues. Since they were very close to my own land, I would often tag along when I see one of the patrol guards. Specifically, one named Greta. She was lively and funny. When rogues would have the balls to attack, they would end up being slaughtered by her and I. She was one tough lady. I mean, she ripped off the head of a particularly nasty rogue with her bare hands.
I spot her as I walk towards Dusk Claw. A mischievous glint shining in my eye. She hasn't seen nor smelled me yet, so I lower my wolf body to the ground and slink in behind her. I'm extra sure to keep quiet because she has excellent hearing. Once I'm close enough, I mimic a rogue growl. I watch as she turns and is immediately alert and ready to fight.
I sniff the air, her scent is slightly different today. I knew she met her mate already, so what could-- my ears perk at her stance, she's protecting her belly more than usual.
I guess today is not the day to keep her on her toes. I yip once and stand up on my paws. Greta sees me and smiles. "Hello, Luna. Almost got me there."
I shift to my human form and stand in front of her in all my naked glory. "You're pregnant." I blurt out.
Fear flashes through her eyes. "Shh! I don't want anyone to know yet." She tosses me an oversized shirt.
"Why not?" I slip into the shirt, it stopping at mid thigh.
"Well--" she pauses and I see something that I've never seen before with this she wolf. Her lip trembles and tears flow freely down her cheeks.
"Oh, Greta." I pull her into a hug where she sobs her heart out.
"My mate doesn't want me. He- he only wants me for s*x. He refuses to mark me and now I'm pregnant with his pup. I don't know what to do, Luna."
I hold her tightly as she cries into my chest. "Come to my pack. I'll talk to Alpha Sirus. I'm sure he will understand."
"No! No you can't! My mate.. is Alpha Sirus's son. I'm-- I'm carrying the future Alpha of Dusk Claw."
"Tell Sirus to come here. I will deal with him. I refuse to let my friend be hurt by her own mate."
Greta hesitated for a moment, but gave in and linked her Alpha. It took about five minutes for him to get to us. He was rather up there in age, but his son was still underage. Only 17. "What is it, Luna Angelina? Is there a problem along my border?"
"No, Alpha. The problem lies with your son. He has gotten his unmarked mate pregnant and refuses to mark her. Merely using her for s****l desires. Greta is my friend, and I refuse to allow her to be hurt by your son."
Sirus growled low. "My son has done what?!" I watched as his eyes flickered between human and wolf. His wolf was on edge now that there is a pup involved.
See, Sirus's wolf, was more of a man than any man in this pack. "He's refusing to mark his mate. Using her as a s****l outlet. All at the same time of refusing to reject her. Alpha, I know it's not my place to interfere, but seeing as how I am Greta's friend, I have to. You need to do something, and fast. Because this pup will wait for no one."
"ALEXANDER!" Sirus used his Alpha tone. The ground shook and Greta whimpered, submitting to her Alpha.
Not two minutes after being called for, he was out of breath, but standing in front of his father. "Yes, Father?"
"What in the f**k do you think you are doing!?" Sirus growled each word.
"What do you mean, Father?" I can see his wolf tied with wanting to submit, but also wanting to jump around at the site of his mate.
I cleared my throat. "May I, Alpha Sirus?" He gave me a nod and I stepped closer. "Alexander, I know who your mate is. I know what you are doing to her. And don't you dare try to lie about it. I can hear your heartbeat. You know as well as anyone, I am half vampire."
He gulped. "I'm not ready to settle down! I want my freedom!"
"Really? Than why did you get her pregnant?" I crossed my arms over my chest.
"I what? No! That's not possible! The w***e is lying! I never even slept with her!" I heard his heart skip a beat.
I growled. "You told a lie."
"N-no! I-I'm telling the truth!" His heart started going erratic.
I chuckled. "Alpha Sirus, who does she smell like?"
He sniffed her and turned back to me. "She smells of my son. Alexander, make a choice now, reject her, or mark her. There will be none of thi--"
"I, Greta, warrior of Dusk Claw, reject you, Alexander, future Alpha of Dusk Claw, as my mate and Alpha."
Everyone looked stunned, but Alexander dropped to his knees in pain. "I, Alexander re-"
"Don't you dare Alex!" Greta yelled. "I am tired of being used by you! I am not a s*x toy! I am a warrior she wolf and now I am becoming a mother! Accept my rejection! Now!"
Alexander blinked at how strong her words were. "I-I, Alexander, future Alpha of Dusk Claw, accept your, Greta, warrior of Dusk Claw, rejection."
Greta gasped, but I held her close to me. "A-Alpha Sirus, p-please banish me."
"I, Alpha Sirus of Dusk Claw, hereby banish you, Greta, ex warrior of Dusk Claw."
Her scent immediately dropped to that of a rogue, making my wolf growl. "I, Angelina, Luna Queen of Sliver Spine, accept you, Greta as one of my people." She shivered. "We aren't a pack nor are we a clan. We are more like a family than anything. Everyone, welcome Greta to our family. She's a warrior rank and soon to be a mother." I finished in the link to my people.
Welcomes and greetings flew through the link. Greta's eyes lit up with unshed tears. This was something that I loved seeing. "Luna Angelina?" Alpha Sirus said.
I turned and looked at him. "Yes, Alpha?"
He held out his hand to me. "From this day forward, our alliance will not be broken. When I step down as Alpha, and until my grandbaby is of age, I wish for you to lead my pack. I'm trusting you to lead them to glory. I am in your debt." Alpha Sirus bowed his head to me.
"Only until the pup is of age to lead and protect your pack." I shook his hand.
I spent a few more moments talking with Alpha Sirus before heading back to my land with Greta in tow. "Everything will be alright, Greta."
"I hope so. I also hope that you won't mind that I go back to my old pack once my pup is old enough to lead those wolves."
I stopped and turned to face her. "Greta, darling. You need not be worried about that. Each person here is free to live as they please. To go wherever they want to. If you feel safe and comfortable enough to go back to Dusk Claw at that point, than you are free to do so. I won't stop you. I made a vow to my people. That if I were to harm anyone unjustly, I will be struck down. I gave this vow before my people and the Moon Goddess herself. Only she can't break this vow."
"I heard about that." She paused. "Did you really kill your own pup?"
I gave her a small smile. "The child was not mine. It had no future nor mate bond. The Goddess simply made it to be a sacrifice for the greater good. Kate and I were only following the request of the Goddess."
"So you did, but under the command of the Goddess?" Greta looked a bit confused.
"To sum it up, yes. The Goddess asked this of us, and we obeyed."
"And you won't hurt anyone else? Not without just cause right?"
"That is right. I don't like having to hurt others. It's just not in me to do it. But if I am asked to or ordered to by the Goddess, I will. She is our creator after all." I smiled softly at Greta who looked much more relaxed now that I explained things to her.
"I'm glad I have you are a friend, Angelina." Greta said as she pulled me into a tight hug.
"Me too, Greta." I whispered as I hugged her.
