Chapter 1: The play boy billionaire
Dubai glittered beneath the night sky like a kingdom made of gold and diamonds. Towering skyscrapers pierced the clouds while luxury cars filled the brightly lit streets. At the center of it all stood Aiden Al-Hassan. Everyone knew his name. Some admired him. Some feared him. Others envied him. At twenty-nine years old, Aiden was one of the most powerful men in Dubai. He possessed wealth beyond imagination, influence that reached every corner of the city, and a face that made headlines almost as often as his business achievements. Tall, handsome, and commanding, he was the kind of man who could silence an entire room with a single glance. But there was one thing people talked about more than his success. His reputation. Aiden was known as a playboy. Women surrounded him wherever he went. Models, actresses, socialites—none of them stayed in his life for long. He never made promises and never believed in love. To him, love was nothing more than a beautiful lie. That evening, he sat alone in his luxurious penthouse overlooking the city. The glass walls revealed the sparkling skyline below, but Aiden barely noticed it. He was reading a report when his phone rang. His jaw tightened when he saw the caller. His mother. He already knew what she wanted. With a sigh, he answered. "Mother." "Aiden," she said warmly. "When are you coming to dinner?" "I've been busy." "You are always busy." Aiden leaned back in his chair. "What is it this time?" There was a brief silence. Then came the question he dreaded. "When are you getting married?" Aiden closed his eyes. Here we go again. "Not this conversation." "You are nearly thirty." "And?" "You need a wife." "I don't need a wife." His mother sounded frustrated. "You need someone who loves you." Aiden laughed. A cold, humorless laugh. "Love doesn't exist." "It does." "It doesn't." His voice hardened. "People pretend to love each other until they find something better." His mother sighed sadly. "You won't always believe that." Aiden ended the call before she could continue. The room fell silent. For a moment, he stared out at the city. Then he returned to work. Because work was easier than emotions. Far easier than love. And he had no idea that his life was about to change forever.
