CHAPTER 70

NATHAN BANISH HER “You’re not going to like this,” Alex’s face confirms my worst fears as he enters the office. His aura immediately affects me. “What is it?” “Sasha is here to see you.” “What the hell does she want?!” My temper flares, and I fly out of my seat, my fists clenching and pulse racing. “Who granted her access?” Declan grunts inside me. “Calm down, Nate.” “Calm down?! She made Jessica almost believe I was in a relationship with her.” My fist smashes into the table, leaving a huge dent. “Why wasn’t I informed before she was allowed entry into the pack? I want the head of the man that allowed her.” Alex nears me and holds my shoulders, trying to ground me. “You don’t really mean that, Nate. They only acted based on how you have allowed her access into the pack.” He’s right. I should have instructed them never to allow her inside since we returned from the Council. I bite back my retort and nod at him. “Where is she now?” He drops his gaze from mine, hesitating. “What is it again?” I snap, my patience fraying. “Alex!” “She took a walk around the pack and…” he falters. “Alex, out with it!” My patience is already wearing thin. “Sasha is talking with Luna…” That’s it. If that snake even says a word about me and her to my mate, I will drag her by her hair out of my pack. She can scream all she wants and report me to the Council. I am prepared to face whatever they bring my way. She will not create any more doubts in the heart of my mate concerning me. “I will drag her by her legs and fling her out,” Declan adds his support. Alex runs after me, begging me not to do anything rash. If only he knew what I have planned for that b***h. “Where are they?!” “At Luna’s garden.” My feet feel like they aren’t running fast enough as I head to the garden. My fear isn’t just about what Sasha could say but what Jessica could do. I saw what she did to Kizziah at the Council. All Jessica needs is a thought. Not that I am afraid of defending my mate, but I don’t want her to waste her strength on such scum as Sasha. The blast of colorful flowers comes into view, their scent filling the air with a sweet fragrance. Jessica grew this garden in a day just by thinking of it. Her powers are getting more amazing by the day. Pack members haven’t stopped praising their Luna. The kids love it and run around picking flowers. I am sure it’s going to be the new hot spot for male wolves to get flowers for their mates. And my Luna will be more than willing to give them. Two figures come into view as I approach, and I can hear voices. Sasha’s arrogant and snarky tone is as prominent as her stance. Her dress is, as usual, riding high above her knees. Did she think she was going to seduce me with that? I have seen better. Even if I haven’t seen my mate without clothes on, I know she will be a hundred times better than Sasha. My mate’s gentle voice reaches me, and I can’t help but smile at what she just said. “My Alpha and I are going to the Ball together.” I love that. Yes, I am her Alpha. And it’s time I send Sasha off my land. “The Ball with you?” Sasha snorts. “You wouldn’t even know how to act.” “And it’s none of your business, Sasha,” I growl at her, glaring with tight fists. Both spin around to me. “Nate…” Sasha sputters. “Alpha Nathan Hunt to you. And what are you doing here? And with my Luna?” I almost smile at seeing Jessica’s smile. Her rosy cheeks color brightly. “I came to pay you a visit after hearing what happened at the Council the other day,” Sasha says. “I came to see how Jessica…” “Luna Jessica Hunt,” I correct her again. “You will refer to my mate as that whenever you are before her or speak to her or about her.” Jessica giggles lightly, twirling the flower in her hands. Sasha glares at her, and Declan growls in my head at her disrespect. “And you will not look at her like that again. Ever!” I snap. Declan urges me to do what we originally planned to do. “And this is the last time you will come to my pack without my permission.” Alex is already near me with some warriors, their presence reinforcing my command. “Nat…Alpha Nathan…” she sputters, noticing the men and their mean gazes. “Do you understand me?!” “Yes! You don’t need to yell at me!” “Get out of my pack lands, now!” Declan and I growl at her. “Escort her out and never allow her inside. If she ever does, I will have your heads!” I instruct them and watch as they lead her away. Declan growls at me for changing my mind. He still wants to drag her out. I don’t want Jessica to see me like that. She may not like that. “Nate,” Jessica whispers behind me, touching my hand. Her touch calms me instantly. I turn to her, my expression softening. “I’m sorry you had to see that.” She smiles up at me, her blue eyes warm and understanding. “You did what you had to do. Thank you for standing up for me.” I pull her into my arms, holding her close, the scent of her hair and the warmth of her body grounding me. “I will always stand up for you, my Luna.” She leans into me, her voice soft. “And I will always be by your side, my Alpha.” We stand there for a moment, the chaos of the day fading away as I hold the most important person in my life
