“Rahhhhhhh”
Kayden screamed as his blood-red eyes locked on me.
Already trying to bring my mind to a calm, I prepared to launch everything at my arsenal. I would give my all even if I knew resistance was futile:
“Deja que el aliento de las llamas consuma a mi enemigo y lo reduzca a cenizas “
Screaming with focus and force, I poured every bit of magic power on to the spell wishing to burn my enemy to cinders.
Joy creeping into my heart, as the 15ft wolf was consumed by crimson like flames;Maybe he will burn to death?
Waiting to hear at least a howl of pain from being consumed by flames, my mind catching up with reality, realizing my flames wasn’t even burning his fur. Instead, the flames served as dramatic effect making him look more fearsome, a 15ft wolf with flames surrounding him like a king.
“Grrr”
Probably howling in delight at his defenseless prey he dashed at me with cataclysmic speed as I already foresaw my death. Being crushed to a pulp wasn’t exactly any sane persons preferred path to death, but I’d preferred that to being tortured to death.
Eyes closed as I graced for the impact, the doors to hell already opening to receive me. I could feel seconds turn to minutes as I could still feel myself breathing. What’s going on?
Opening my eyes, the 15ft wolf absent as in its place was the 5ft Kayden in its human form. His upper body bare as he was only left with his pants which already torn in different parts. My eyes roamed over his body which were literally littered with different ancient symbols inked with red ink.
“I expected more fight from you”
His words almost made me sink to ground in shame,
“Lesson number one;Never give up no matter the scenario…cause the moment your body gets use to it…the moment you spiral into your own doom. Courage to fight till the end is an attribute every being should emulate”
For the first time I found myself agreeing to his words, as I brutally realized I lacked the will to push till the end as I, was always quick to give up. My eyes locked with him, wondering despite his cruelty what experiences made him who he was today. Maybe that was my clue to bringing him down from his pedestal.
Regaining my wits, already striving to evolve into my perfect form, I asked;
“Was it necessary for you to morph into your wolf form? I saw it as an unnecessary overkill “.
“Had to show you what absolute power looks like..Hmmmm.. Maybe I also wanted to quell those thoughts of rebellion and vengeance in your heart…or maybe I wanted to show you how capable and reliable I was. Who knows?”
Replying me as he shrugged with smugness written all over him, he walked back to the place where he murdered the Evermore Alpha. Following him, my eyes rolling at his overflowing arrogance, my thoughts kept drifting to his inked scribing on his body. Were those symbols his source of power?
Calculations kept running in my mind, those symbols had to mean something. The only confusion in my head was with Kayden's apparent hate for the witches; Why would he let a witch inscribe this runic marks on his body?
Yes, those marks were inscribed by a witch something I was a hundred percent sure of. So that takes me back to my question;what does this symbol mean, and why would Kayden let a witch inscribe it on him?
Walking to the place were the battle esumed we stopped in front of the bisected 10ft wolf, his blood soaking the ground, intestines out, I could feel bile rising in my throat as nausea took over. I had never seen something so gory in my life, my innocence was getting ruined by this monster.
“His skull would be a good addition to my collection. Lesson number 2;Never try to play truth or dare with the devil himself as the end result would always be your ruin.”
He said to me as his eyes continue to stare at his fellow Alpha. Was he even capable of feeling regret?
I felt pity for the ambitious alpha who instead of getting a chance to be elected into the council he was elected to burn in deeper layers of hell forever. How should I play my cards right? As I was about to also play a game of truth and dare with the devil himself.
“Are you not scared of ‘The Council’”, I asked as I wanted to see how deranged he was.
The Council represented the peak of our world. There were in charge of every major decision-making involving our world at large. With beings at the peak of power, the lycanthropes represented the wolf species as they were wolf royalty, the pure blood vampires represented the vampire species, The witch queens represented the witches as beings mastering the erratic ways of magic. The humans, demon kind, also had their very own representing them in the council.
So it isn’t hard to imagine the power and resource the Council wielded. And here we have Kayden who is literally to be killed or captured on sight as ordered by the Council.
“The Council, huh?”
He replied in a low voice as he finally looked back at me, eyes still blood-red, upper body bare and filled with inked inscriptions, I could feel myself heating up. What the heck was happening?
“The Council is filled with egoistic and self-centered maggots all rotting this world with their existence. As for seeing them as a threat? I personally plan on exorcizing this filths out of existing. It’s only a matter of time little princess, and I would show you what real power looks like”.
His eyes blazed, temperature burning as his aura filled the surroundings with every word coming out of his mouth. I found myself wondering if he would survive against those overpowered beings in the Council. But maybe it was my naivety, or lack of experience I had a feeling he wouldn’t just survive, but he executes every one of them.
Whether I was wrong or not, I knew that I had to find a way to put an end to him or inform the Council about his threat level. It was obvious that the Council still underestimated this monster and I had to find a way to inform them before he caught them unaware.
Sighing softly, I realized that my to-do list just kept increasing. Praying silently in my heart as I wished for the mental and physical strength to strive through this ordeal.
