The little bit of coaching changed Garrett’s demeanor significantly. Once they got to the green, Eron wrapped his arms around Garrett again and drilled him on the finer points of putting. Garrett still scored a four on the third hole, but his moping ceased with the slight improvement.
Garrett worried about a lot more than Eron, including what anyone might think of his golf game. Eron didn’t care what Bob or Dennis thought of their game, he wanted to enjoy the day with Garrett. This was their first full day they had woken in each other’s arms and would go to sleep together.
Now on the fifth hole, Eron stood back and watched Dennis tee off. Dennis was no better than Garrett, but he enjoyed himself. As they moved toward the green, Bob and Dennis quipped with each other. They amazed him with
