Chapter 15 Feeling Good?

Carrie briefly explained, seeing Henry's eyes darting around, she solemnly warned him, "Did you just peek at Diane changing clothes? Let me tell you, don't draw Diane's attention. She's not the kind of casual woman. Be careful not to get yourself into trouble."

"Hehe, how could that be possible. Having you as a sister is enough for me." Henry laughed awkwardly, realizing that women, regardless of age, are sensitive and can't stand other women outshining them.

"You sweet talker." Carrie acted like a playful little girl, perhaps sensing a certain threat. After all, compared to Diane, she had no advantage. Henry's thoughts about Diane were understandable, but Carrie still emphasized, "Don't blame me for not warning you. Many people are watching Diane. You better not stir up trouble for yourself."

Henry began to sober up, realizing the truth in Carrie's words. He could be with Carrie because she usually kept a low profile, giving the impression of a stable woman. Diane, on the other hand, was different. She was beautiful, sexy, and dressed provocatively every day. There were probably many people eyeing her at school, maybe even influential figures like the principal. Henry was just an ordinary student with no background. If things developed with Diane, it could lead to a lot of trouble in the future.

With this in mind, Henry earnestly told Carrie, "Sis, I understand. I won't act impulsively." Diane might be tempting, but she was not someone he could pursue. He decided to focus on being a good student and appreciate what he had with Carrie.

"Alright, let's go back to class." Seeing Henry realize the seriousness of the situation, Carrie smiled contentedly, "In a few days, after my period ends, I'll make it up to you. You can have it your way then."

Henry left Carrie's office and returned to the classroom. Taylor was about to leave, and upon seeing Henry enter, she huffed and turned her face away, clearly still upset about Henry rejecting her invitation last night.

Spotting Lucas waving at him not far away, Henry felt a bit helpless. He hadn't intended to upset Taylor, but circumstances had led to it.

Approaching Lucas, Henry asked, "Have you figured out what to do for Taylor's birthday?"

"I have a few ideas in mind, but nothing final yet. How about you come over to my place tomorrow to help me decide? I found some good stuff online recently, and I'll share it with you," Lucas said, signaling something to Henry.

Henry understood Lucas's hint. They used to watch adult videos together at the video store, but they had grown tired of the limited selection. Lucas's father, disapproving of his frequent visits, bought him a computer to keep him entertained at home and out of trouble.

This realization frustrated Henry the most.

Suddenly, Henry spotted Diane standing gracefully by a utility pole across the street, looking anxious. Her high heel had broken after being jostled leaving the supermarket, and with no cobbler nearby, she stood waiting for help. Seeing no familiar faces passing by, she felt a sense of urgency and hesitated about returning to the crowded supermarket for temporary shoes.
