“It’s eleven thirty,” Sadie murmurs, unbuckling her seatbelt as we pull up to the house.
“Tyler’s probably asleep by now,” I reassure her, stepping out of the car and heading toward the front door.
“No, the lights are still—”
“Goddamn it!”
Tyler throws the door open before we can even reach it and rushes forward, pulling me into a crushing hug. “Where the hell were you?!”
He pulls back just enough to look at me, then his eyes dart to Sadie. In the next instant, he grabs a fistful of her hair and yanks her toward him, wrapping his massive arms around her small frame.
