At the end of class, it’s Ryan who drives me home. I spend most of the afternoon working on university assignments, and when I’m finally done, I decide to turn on my phone. I’d turned it off hours ago because of Jeremy’s endless calls, but honestly, I just don’t want to talk to him.
The moment I power it up, a flood of missed calls and messages hits the screen—but I ignore all of them.
With a sigh, I lie back on the bed and scroll aimlessly through my social media. And even though part of me wants to know exactly why Jeremy keeps calling, I’m not emotionally ready to face him. So I do what I do best—avoid reality and get lost in my phone, trying to forget about the disaster that is my love life.
