DANA
“UH…” Was the only sound my mouth could make as I stared at the smeared white shirt, the red wine was so quick to soak into it, I swallowed hard trying to avoid his eyes which didn’t stop attacking me ferociously.
I think I’ve met another immature man who hates untidy women. Not like I was being untidy, I just slipped. I nearly fell to the floor. Shouldn’t he be worried that I didn’t fall to the ground instead of staring at me so intently like that?
Ugh! Speak of immature men and they appear like rice, littering all over the place with their appearance. I guess I would never meet a gentleman in my life.
“Sir, are you okay? We’re so sorry sir.” Two men stepped forward circling around him, they turned briefly casting a deadly glare at me while I bore my eyes into them.
I won’t let them intimidate me like that, I bite my lower lips avoiding that man’s steady gaze, as I noticed the rise of my heart beat.
“I think we will have to get you another shirt sir, there’s a spare in the car,” one of the men said and I tried so hard to suppress the urge to scoff, get him a new shirt? Some braggart seated over there.
“It’s okay, I’m okay,” the man’s husky voice greeted my ears and that’s when I looked up to study his face properly.
I sucked in some breath as the features of his face struck me, the definition of a handsome manly man! That was him. So handsome with the way he was trying to take care of the mess I made.
Embarrassment suddenly began to creep into me, I tried to duck away when I heard him again, “Are you okay? You nearly fell down.” He said while I nodded and hurried towards the bathroom.
I must’ve been so stupid! So daft! How could I pull that sort of stunt to a man like that! I dug my hands into my hair, recalling the face of the man who is the cause of all this!
The pot bellied i***t who did nothing but rile me up not only with his eyes, his appearance, his words but being alive!! Why is he alive?
Men like that, aren’t they supposed to die? The loud beep of my phone made me realize that I had left the table with my phone.
I checked the notification that flooded into the phone and it was my mother.
WHEN ARE YOU COMING HOME? I WARNED YOU ABOUT COMING BACK EARLY AND STAYING WITH YOUR SICK BROTHER!!
DON’T TELL ME YOU TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT YOUR FATHER’S DEATH ANNIVERSARY.
Oh s**t! I totally forgot. Today is my father’s death anniversary, how could I forget about something trivial like that. I need to get home as soon as possible without the girls noticing my disappearance.
I turned on the tap and washed my hands, I dried them and walked out, hurrying towards the table to go get my bag,
What am I going to tell my friends? I need to come with a very good lie in order to get away from them tonight, ugh! I hate this so much.
“Bam!!!!” A terrible gunshot echoed through the whole hall, deafening my ears, causing me to stop walking, my eyes going hazy, fear creeped into my stomach.
“Where’s Mr. Hudson? Where’s that bastard man!!” a loud croaky voice of a man sounded in the air causing my blood to ripple in my veins.
What’s going on? I asked but that came way too late as everywhere became super rowdy, all road led to the exit.
Where’s Daisy? Darcy? Danica? Damn it! We need to get out of here super fast! Oh my God! The guns persisted!
I finally ran to our table and no one was there, God! They’ve left me behind! I struggled past the crowd, I needed to get outside, I needed to get home!
My friends!! “Ugh!!!” Someone pushed me down as I struggled out of the exit door and I fell so hard and hit my butt so hard on the floor.
Oh no! Not now! Not today! I forced myself up to my feet and that’s when I felt a hand grab me and duck me away to a dark corner, I could scent his cologne, it was familiar.
It filled my nose, making my whole being to still for a moment before I heard a very loud bang which shook the whole building.
“Ahhh…” I let out a scream before his palm pressed against my lips,
“Shush, you can’t make a sound,” his husky voice flooded into my ears before he pulled me after him.
A car sped towards us and stopped, the doors flew open and he pushed me into the car and got in, other boys followed suit and that’s when I knew that I was neck deep in trouble.
What am I doing in a strange car that was speeding so fast along the highway, and no police siren was blaring past it to give a warning?
My hands were shaking, I couldn’t make up any face in the car, they were all hooded in black dresses, the car was so dead silent like a graveyard.
Am I kidnapped right now? Oh no! Mom warned me about this! s**t! No, this can’t be happening, if this is a dream, I need to wake up right now and super fast!
“Please let me go…” my voice trembled out immediately, “I don’t know what I did wrong but I’m just a college student in WESLEY GIRLS COLLEGE, I’m barely twenty two years old, the only child of my mom…” tears fell in their numbers on my face.
“Please…I am not the right person for you guys, please leave me alone…” I continued but stopped as the car pulled into a driveway flooded by light, the car slowed down into a stop causing my heart to quiver,
“Please, let me go…” slipped off my lips as the car doors flew open, “I don’t want to die, my dad is late, he can’t pay a ransom on my head…”
“Can you please keep quiet and stop whining young lady?” The man seated next to me asked while I concentrated my eyes on his face,
little light in the driveway gave me enough access to look at his face, my heart flew into my mouth when I recognized him. He was the man I spilled my drink on a few moments ago!
