DANA
“OH NO!” I gasped out as the recognition hit me so wild and clear. I must’ve touched the tiger by its tail when I spilled drinks on his white shirt!
Oh my God. I guess he’s paying me back for my actions, Oh my God! I swallowed hard, settling my eyes into his, maybe I could buy mercy from them. Maybe he would take pity upon my soul and forgive me for what happened.
I mean, I’m just a child. I didn’t know what I was doing, he didn’t have to go so livid with the gunshots and all simply because I spilled a drink on him.
I shouldn’t have come out tonight, I should’ve gone home like mom wanted me to. How am I going to get myself out of this mess?
“Keep quiet and get down from the car,” he said softly and moved to get down when I grabbed his hand smiling mischievously,
I know what men like him want? Just a little teasing, a little eulogizing and their stupid heads get swayed, speak of immature men and he’s supposed to be one.
“I’m sorry for what happened earlier in the party, I didn’t mean to spill a drink on…” his hand slipped away from mine, before I could blink twice, he was out of the car.
I was left alone, with a man waiting for me to get down so he would close the door. I think I’m neck deep in trouble. Not just any trouble but in trouble with an unforgiving cold immature man!
What did mom say about going out again? I think God is punishing me for always disagreeing with my mom, for always making her cry, for always lying and stealing from her.
And to crown it all, I forgot my own father’s death anniversary, hung out with friends who cared less about their school lives but social recognition and social lives, got insulted by a man my dad’s age and finally, spilled a drink on a man who is the karma of my skewed destiny!
What a well planned life! I slipped out of the car reaching for my phone immediately. I need to make a few calls, I can’t let my destiny decide for me just yet, I can’t give up just yet until my phone screamed, BATTERY LOW and went off!
Am I to laugh or cry? I think I will just laugh heartily, “Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha,” I laughed hysterically alerting the attention of the man who was walking in front of me, one cold stare and the smile died on my face immediately.
He exhaled loudly and continued while I followed closely, barely paying attention to the expensive house that I walked into, my fate was more important at this point.
We walked into a large sitting room and he ushered me into a seat, “You can sit over there,” he said softly while I swallowed, “Don’t worry, don’t be scared. I won’t hurt you,” he continued as if he’s actually expecting me to trust that.
He won’t hurt me but he bundled me into his car and brought me here?
He let out a smile showing a warm looking set of teeth which caused me to relax a little, “I mean it, I won’t hurt you, just sit over there. I will have the boys arrange the guest room for you to stay the night and…” he looked at my dress and sighed out, “You look a mess,” he said and stepped closer towards me,
“You must’ve been so startled earlier, the bullet almost hit you,” he said and that’s when I noticed a scrape on my knee, guess it happened when I fell but hold on…what happened to my dress?
I look so shabby, dusty and unkempt! Dirty is an understatement when it comes to me. He was staring at me warmly, “Don’t worry, I guess the boys will take their time getting something done, come here,” he slipped his hand into mine and led me into his room.
“Wash up, I will get you something nice to wear,” He said as he opened the bathroom door for me, I swallowed hard, extending my gaze towards his face again.
Why is he being nice? I mean so nice! Staring at me with his dreamy blue eyes which tend to make me want to do anything he asks of me without thinking too much of it.
That’s not good, I frowned, “I swear I don’t want to hurt you, you should be happy. I saved your life. You would’ve been dead by now,” he said as if he read my mind.
I frowned deeper. I should be happy. How am I supposed to be happy when he stole me away without saying anything to me throughout the drive and all of a sudden, opens his mouth and begins to smile warmly?
Immature men like this are dangerous, they’re the ones who are called GREEN SNAKES. You can never know where they’re attacking you from.
“Can you just bathe first, I will take you home in the morning, it’s pretty late already,” he said and I couldn’t help but let out a soft scowl,
What happened to taking me home tonight? Because it’s pretty late? So he’s saying, he’s going to keep me in his house all night till the next morning? Why? Green snake in the green grass.
So all of this is his scheme? Why do I feel like the movie 365 days suddenly came to live? He’s Massimo while I’m the girl who was kidnapped out of the blue and committed to stay with him for the next 365 days to see if I’m going to fall in love with him.
My heart sank especially when he covered the distance between us, his cologne filling up my nose again, He lowered his mouth to my ear, “Hey you,” He whispered.
