On the way back to camp, the silence between Ezra and me was thick, laden with a tension that was impossible to ignore. He walked steadily, carrying the bear's corpse on his shoulders as if it were nothing more than a sack of provisions. I trailed behind, casting furtive glances his way, my hands clenched tightly at my sides, still furious about everything that had happened. But I couldn't ignore the tickling curiosity swirling inside me. I had so much to learn about this world, and Ezra's camp seemed the best place to start. As we approached, I saw the figures of soldiers and villagers beginning to emerge among the tents. The activity increased as we neared, and a group of soldiers quickly approached, their gazes filled with respect for Ezra... and astonishment at the enormous dead bear.
