I barely waited for Ezra to walk away after he freed me before I started running. Without saying goodbye to Nataly or looking back, I ran into the forest, feeling the adrenaline fueling every step. Putting as much distance as possible between me and the camp was the only thing that mattered. As I ran, weaving between branches and roots, I felt the adrenaline slowly fading, and with each step, calm started to return to my body.
