Boss and Employee relationship.

1218 Words
Raymond made Jenny speechless, he disarmed her with his willingness to let things go and moved on to matters at hand, their boss-and-employee relationship. Maybe he never loved her, the ever after a promise was all a lie, and at eighteen years old she believed him. She promised herself she would never fall for it again, not for him or any other man. She was such a fool to believe he once loved her but he had long moved on and so should she, right now, Raymond James was her boss and she was his PA, she was going to try as much as she could to pretend they never had a past together Jenny decided as she went to the receptionist to collect the work plan. Jenny put all of her effort into the work, as she tried to forget about the event of this morning and the past she shared with her boss. Preparing a schedule for the month wasn't easy work for a very busy CEO like Raymond James. She was halfway done when her phone began to ring, it was her dad Michael Josh. He wants to know how her day was going, if it was a usual first day, Jenny would have been so happy to share her story so far, but it wasn't and that puts her in a tight spot. “Hi Daddy,” she answered and greeted him. “Hi J-j, how are you?” Michael asked from the other end. “I'm fine” “Are you okay? How is your day going?” Michael asked, he wasn't hearing any first-day excitement in her voice and it wondered him. “I'm a good dad, my day is fine_ just busy” Jenny tried to cover up. “Baby, listen to me, if it is not what you want, you can let it go” Michael advised, sensing the discomfort in his daughter's voice. “It's nothing, Daddy, I was just welcomed with a lot of work, nothing to worry yourself about '' Jenny was being careful, she didn't want her father to know she was working for Raymond, he would want her to quit. He knew about Raymond and how he broke her heart. Leaving town helped them both heal. Her father from the divorce and Jenny from a broken heart. “It's okay baby, I know you can handle it, I'm rooting for you, let me leave you to work. Bye baby” “Byd dad, I love you” “I love you too” he hung up. After a deep breath of relief, Jenny continued her work. While Jenny worked and tried to push Raymond to the back of her head, she was at the front of Raymond's head and his face. He had called up all the company had on her personal life and was trying to catch up where he left off. Jenny had attended college in the city where she lived with her dad and had gotten a first class in business management. He wasn't surprised she had always been very intelligent. She waited tables in different bars and restaurants while in college and got a good recommendation from all of her bosses, including the one from her internship. Are criminal and medical records clean as he expected, Jenny had never been known to cause trouble. The one aspect he was looking for, and had nothing on it, because there was no way it could be on her profile. Her personal life; her relationships. Who had she been with? Who did she leave him for? Why was she not hurting after leaving him? Raymond needed answers he couldn't find, as he kept on reading through every detail on her profile. He wanted more answers and he would get it. Jenny was done, she had fixed up Raymond's schedule for the month, and she was pleased with her work. What was left was for her to hand it over, which was another challenge. She wasn't ready to go face him now, but she couldn't keep running from him, he was her boss and she couldn't avoid facing him. Another demon she was afraid to face was Peter. It was almost closing time and Peter would be here to pick her up for their earlier agreed dinner date and would want to know every detail of how her first day went. She had told Peter about Raymond when they were in college and she wonders how he would feel knowing she now works for Raymond, the ex who broke her heart and made her give up on love. He is not going to like the idea especially now that she wants to be lovers. Jenny was confused, she didn't want to hurt Peter's feelings he desired better. As Jenny worked up to Raymond's office, she decided she was going to call Peter and cancel the date, she would tell him she had work to take home and she needed time to do it, she plotted as she knocked on Raymond’s door. “Come right in” Raymond was expecting her. Jenny walked in, Raymond was now wearing his jacket and looked hotter. He wasn't looking away, he looked straight at her like he could see her soul. Jenny had to manage her steps and tried not to fall for the way Raymond stared as she approached. Raymond was intentionally making Jenny uncomfortable, he wanted to see how much he still had on her, and from her reaction, he noticed he had fair enough. My God she was beautiful, she had added little weight from what he used to know, the weights were mostly on her hips and ass and Raymond loved what he saw, she was more of a woman and less of the girl he used to know. The distance from the door to his desk became the longest walk of Jenny's life. It was a stare like this that made her want to avoid face-to-face contact with him as she needed some time to build enough guard against it. “Mr. James, I have sent your schedule for the month to your personal and official email,” she said when she made it to his desk. “Good, I will take a look, when I have the time” Jenny nodded in response. “Mr. James, if that_” Jenny stopped, she was interrupted by the ringing from her phone. s**t! It was Peter. “Mr. James, I have to take this,” she asked. Raymond nodded in permission as she stepped away to take it. “Hi Peter,” she answered. Raymond frowned at her mention of a male name. Who da f**k is Peter? Was he the dude she left him for? Are they still dating? The man she preferred to give her innocence to and not him. Raymond was angry, he didn't have answers to the questions. “Okay I will meet you up shortly” Raymond heard her say before hanging up. The day was turning out to be bad, Peter was already at the parking lot and there was no chance of her calling to cancel their dates, she had to go with him. f**k! “Who was that? Raymond asked immediately, Jenny got back to his desk.
