CHAPTER 001
CHAPTER 001
ANA Points of view
Allow me to briefly introduce you to my life. Juliana Clara Weiss Hartmann is my name; most people call Ana. I run Lockwood Event Planning and am 27 years old. Sounds elegant, correct? To have a name in this world, though, I have had to work hard. Though it would seem that way to some, I was not born with a silver spoon shoved down my throat. Though my father Felix Hartmann oversees the Italian Mafia in New York, that is not who I am. Regarding business, he more resembles a "shark"; with me, though? I am his little princess.
Helena Weiss Hartmann, my mother, first met Dad while working as an NYU teaching assistant. At this point he began his small "business" deal to entice her. Their love narrative is one hell-worth. Trust me; you would believe it to be out of some movie. My dad rules the mafia universe as king. Everyone respects and worries about the man. Regarding myself, though, I am his princess. He would have done to keep me safe.
My family now? Well, it's complex. Stefan and Nikolaus (Nick) are my two older brothers. Stefan is the middle child; Nik is the eldest. The youngest of us is me. Three of us are rather close-knit. You mess with all three of us, one of which is me. In this family, that is how things operate. Yes, our mothers are different, but we manage it. Before he met my mom, dad wasn't exactly the devoted kind; but she helped him.
Being the eldest, Nik is the one expected to inherit Dad's empire. To be honest, he is a complete ladies' man; he is ambitious, smart, and sly. Like dad, he exudes this same air. His entering a room makes you feel this. That is the reason everyone respects him. He is currently running some of the company, and well, nobody can reach him right now. To "launder" some of the money, he even opened a nightclub. I guess if you have the money to spend, this is New York. Still, I have not really given it any thought. Working for my own company and doing my thing makes me happy.
My other brother, Stefan, is managing Dad's more "legitimate" commercial endeavors. He doesn't really give the mafia stuff much thought. He does, however, enjoy the authority and accompanying name. I'm glad he is doing this since he has this iron hold on everything that is "legit". The three of us took over when Dad retired. Stefan made sure the empire expanded to include Argentina and Brazil. He's got this entire worldwide thing under way, and really? More than I will admit, I trust him. Our friendship is also rather close. I usually turn to him. When we were younger, we would slip out of the house together and do as we pleased. We would always back each other.
Finally, there is me. Ana Hartmann, the princess from Mafia. Men surrounded me all of my life. Growing up, I hardly had many female friends. I only have Emilie Bauer here. From our infancy, she has been my best friend. The remaining one? Indeed, our relationship is not very smooth. Girls in our world? Too much drama. Like I would with guys, I started arguments with them. Dad would "take care of them," always saying I had to learn how to defend myself and that if anyone gave me crap. Of course, he never really did it, but when you're a young child, you imagine your dad to have superpowers.
Things changed once I started puberty. The lads began to find me interesting. I know it; I'm not going to lie; I look nice. That's simply my level of confidence. But it is not all roses. I am constantly surrounded by bodyguards. Though trust me—I can defend myself—it seems as though they believe I am unable. I have been taught to manage anything that comes across me. Regarding guns? I am rather good with them. You name it, and I could apply it. I can reach my goal without even working out.
That is not my approach, though. I don't live off of my dad's reputation or money. I launched Lockwood Event Planning, my own business. And presently? I am the chief executive officer. Though most of the time I'm in board meetings or handling business, I still plan events since I enjoy it.
In business? I am not simply "Felix Hartmann's daughter." No, I am Ana Hartmann, the strictly pragmatic party planner.
Oh, and definitely I am involved. Regarding my fiancé? I am absolutely in his favor. I want my dad's approval, but ultimately I make my own decisions. Don't get me wrong. Emilie, my best friend, here is She is also the daughter of my dad's friend. Together, we have seen a lot. We taught each other growing up how to fight and never back down. Failure? Not a possibility.
Generally speaking, that's me. Welcome to my world.
