The Alpha's mate is the Beta's Sister

Rose POV I did it. I had finally graduated. I could now teach children in the pack. To top it off, I had the knowledge about all different kids of paranormal beings. I was now an expert on paranormal beings as well. It's taken 10 long years, but I did it. Graduating high school early really paid off. Avi had come to my Graduation ceremony and was coming to take me home. I had to have my first shift on my own which Avi was still upset about. There had been some pressing matters at home that had prevented Avi from being at my first shift at 18. He's visited me over the years but in order for me to finish my 2 master degrees, I needed to do all my units back to back. I did my 12 years in 10. All my hard work had finally paid off. I was missing home, mum, dad, Avi and Luna (my wolf) really wanted to run around our own territory. She didn't like that her first shift wasn't on our own territory. "Rose!" The sound of Avi's voice cut through the crowd. "Avi!" I called back. I made my way towards my brother, throwing my arms around his neck when I finally caught up to him. "How's Quinn?" "She's good. She's keeping busy in the medical centre. She's updating everything, much to Klaus' annoyance." "So he's okay with you being his sister's mate?" "He was shocked at the start but seeing as both he and I were born 2 days apart and we've been raised together, he's fine with it. I had more of an issue with it than he did." Avi explained. Avi and I caught up the whole way back to the pack. The 4 hour drive seemed to fly by. Before I knew it we were entering into pack territory. 'It's great to be back.' I thought to myself. 'I can't wait to run around the territory.' Luna responded excitedly. "Hey Avi..."I started. "Hey Rose..." Avi replied. "Luna wants to go for a run around the territory. Since Luna and Elijah haven't met yet, want to join?" I pitched. "Of course. Why even ask?" Klaus asked. "You're the Beta. Klaus could need you for stuff." I reasoned. "He does. He needs me to spend time with my sister." Avi teased, ruffling my hair. "Ha ha. Still haven't developed a sense of humour I see." I responded, attempting to fix my hair. "How have you survived without me to be the but of your jokes?" "Do you really want to know?" Avi asked with a smug smile. "No, No I don't." I answered, already knowing the answer. After another hour of driving, we finally reached the pack house. I couldn't sit still any longer. Avi had barely put the car into park before I was jumping out of the car, stripping behind a tree and shifting into my white and grey wolf. Luna was ecstatic. She started yapping at Avi to hurry up. Avi just laughed at Luna's antics before going behind a tree and shifting. Luna playfully nipped at Elijah's jaw and tail before running into the forest surrounding the pack house. The forest was full of the sound of animals. Luna could hear a bird talking to another bird, the ants returning to the nest with food and a spider having its dinner. Luna kept stopping to take everything in and pee. Elijah would just stand nearby before accompanying Luna to the next area. He wasn't rushing her or anything. Just keeping her company and standing guard. "You guys just can't turn it off, huh?" I asked. "What do you mean?" Avi asked. Elijah c****d his head at me. "Ever the patient protector. You always have been." I mindlinked back as Luna rubbed herself up against Elijah in thanks. "Let's play. You're it." Luna bopped Elijah's nose before running off. We heard Elijah's playful growl before hearing his paws thudding across the forest floor. Luna and Elijah played for a couple of hours throughout the territory before I was able to convince Luna that we should put our stuff away. "Thanks big brother." I mindlinked. "Anytime little sis." He mindlinked back. Luna brushed up against Elijah a few times on the way back and licked Elijah's jaw before going behind the tree with my clothes, shifting back and dressing myself. Avi and I took my stuff upstairs before I hugged my brother goodnight and fell asleep. Klaus POV I was in my office focusing on Rose's welcome back party. I was annoyed. Rose hadn't been on Pack Territory in 10 years. I was only doing this for Avi. She was his sister through adoption and he had missed her. If it was up to me, she'd get nothing. 10 years is a lot of unaccounted time; a lot of time to not return to your home and see your family. Unless she knew she was adopted and was hunting down her birth parents in which case she didn't deserve a welcome back party anyway. Avi went and saw Rose from time to time but for the most part she hadn't seen any of us for the 10 years. I couldn't do it. I hate leaving pack lands. I'm suspicious of those that can do it for a long time. Just as I was doing the final details, Avi walked in, smelling faintly of the forest and cherry blossums. Kai perks up and starts pacing in my head. "Alpha. Rose is back and all settled in. She is none the wiser about the party tomorrow." "I think I've finished. Have a look." I respond, handing the planning sheet over. Avi looked it over, grabbed a pen, made a couple of changes and then handed it back. I looked over the changes, nodded my head and signed off on it. "Anything else Avi?" "Rose asked me something interesting on the way back. Mind if I ask?" Avi sat down opposite me. "You don't need to ask...go ahead." I responded, leaning back in my chair. "She asked if you were okay with me being your sister's mate. Are you really?" "Of course I am. You and I have been raised together. We're best friends. I couldn't imagine anyone more considerate, dedicated or committed for my sister." I enthused. "Why do you ask?" "Coz I struggled with it. I just thought you might have." Avi seemed pensive. "If you were boning my sister without being her mate, yes I would have an issue but as her destined mate that would die before intentionally hurting her, I don't have an issue." I explained, getting frustrated. The smell of cherry blossoms was getting to me. Why was this even an issue? Quinn and Avi had found each other years ago and he's only bringing it up now. He knew how I felt about ages ago. "Why bring it up now? Is it just coz your sister asked you?" "Partially. It got me thinking that maybe you were just trying to look at the silver lining?" "You know me. If I had an issue, you'd know and you know that you'd know. Now, go have a rest. It's an early start for us and you need rest. You've been going non-stop since you knew the date of Rose's return. She's back and safe. Get some sleep." I directed. I needed the Cherry Blossom smell out of my office. Avi stood and left. I stood and went for a run before turning in for the night. The Cherry Blossom smell seemed to be everywhere and Kai loved it.
