Chapter 19

A few moments later, Lord Leonard sent me back to my friends. Not before Leslie stopping me and giving me this bag full of these strange looking beans. “Beans?” I said. “They are magic beans,” she said her eyes giving a sparkle. “Magic beans?” I said snorting. “Man, there is just no fooling you,” Leslie said not being able to keep a straight face. “This is the testosterone repressor I gave you to tame your bestial urges.” “Oh,” I said. That kind of made sense. “Just take one every day until you are out of the rut, I think it’s supposed to last about a month.” Leslie frowned and looked over at Lord Leonard. “How should I know? I don’t go through ruts,” Lord Leonard said. “I thought Alqamar might have told you something,” Leslie said. “Nope,” Lord Leonard said. “Anyways don’t go too long without taking them,” Leslie said. “Why not?” I asked. “The one thing that Alqamar and the other male Beghrest had told me about when you guys go through ruts is that you become savaged untamed beasts unless you mate.” Lord Leonard said. “And you getting yourself into that position could be bad news.” “I see,” I nodded in agreement. “So when I send you back only a few minutes would have passed since you left, so they will know you are gone but it hasn’t been as long as you thought.” Lord Leonard said. “What has it been 20 minutes?” “26,” Leslie corrected. “Well there you go,” Lord Leonard said. “What do we do with Theresa?” Sammie asked. “Well she was the one who pulled a fast one on you guys. I think she might know where one of Hunraken’s cronies is at.” Lord Leonard said. “So, we capture her and get the information?” I asked. “That’s right,” Lord Leonard said. “Anyways, you’ll feel a tingly feeling when we turn the transporter on but other than that you should be fine,” Leslie said. A moment later we were standing in front of Walker who looked like he was about to reach across and kiss Tanya. Walker jumped nearly 8 feet back really fast and screamed. “Hunter?!” Walker said very nervously and turning bright red. I looked at him and looked at Tanya. She was blushing a deep, deep red. “Where’s your sister?” I asked Sammie. “She can’t be far,” Sammie said. “Where were you?” Walker said. “Where’s the one who looks like her?” I asked. “Hunter?” Umberto said appearing out of the wood work. We saw the other Sammie and she looked like she was caught red handed and started running. “Oh, come on!” I said. I ran after the fake Sammie, or rather Theresa and caught up to her quickly. I brought her back and threw her in the center of all of us. “Theresa,” Sammie said. “Theresa?” Umberto said looking at Sammie. “She said you were Theresa.” “Yeah she would do that,” Sammie said. “I however I am the real Samielle,” “Don’t listen to her, she was programmed to pretend to be like me,” Theresa said. Sammie walked over to her and quite quickly pulled up her hair. On the bottom part of her neck she had three lines in a row in a “III” sort of manner. Sammie pulled her own hair up which revealed “VI” on her neck. I looked confused. “Oh hell,” Umberto said. “What do those markings mean?” I said. “The one she has means Three,” Umberto said pulling out the gun from its holster and pointed it at Theresa. “So you are Theresa Heather Rumilda Emily Epstein?” “Fine,” Theresa putting her hands up. “Yes, I am Theresa.” “How long have you been playing us?” Walker said gaping. “Since you came back from rescuing Rana,” Sammie explained. “What were you trying to accomplish?” Umberto said still pointing the gun at her. Theresa looked like she was trying to figure out if there was a way for her to get out of this situation but thought otherwise. “Someone paid me to find out who was poking around trying to find Norman Hunraken.” Theresa said sighing. “So, you do work for that slime ball?” I asked “Lord no,” Theresa said. “What does that mean?” I asked. “No, she would never work for a slime ball like him,” Sammie said. “She is probably got paid by one of the lesser ranked slime balls.” “Alright which slime ball is paying you?” Umberto asked. “Eugene?” I asked. “No!” Theresa said. “Who then?” Umberto said pointing the gun at her and c*****g the tricker. “You can’t shoot me just like that,” Theresa said. “Watch me!” Umberto said. “Fine!” Theresa said raising her hands once Umberto acted like he was about to shoot her. “Have you heard of Colonel Marx Browne?” “What!?” Walker said sounding outraged. “Yeah I call horse poo,” Umberto said. “It’s the truth,” Theresa said. “He was the one who paid me to find out who you guys were. It was not until you came back from rescuing Rana did I put everything together an figured out you guys were the ones who were looking for Hunraken.” “Why would the Colonel want to find out who is looking for Hunraken?” Umberto asked. “I don’t know I didn’t ask him.” Theresa said. “Is that some guy you know or something?” I asked. “Colonel Marx Browne is the son of Albrecht Browne,” Umberto said. “You realize that I am not from this place so that means nothing,” I said. “He is a member of GABE,” Walker said. “Wait that rebellion group?” I said. “He’s more than just a member of GABE he is the god damn leader.” Umberto said holding the gun close to the forehead of Theresa. “That’s why I don’t believe you.” “It’s the truth,” Theresa said holding her hands up. “She’s not lying,” Sammie said. “Fine,” Umberto said and he put the gun away. “What the hell we don’t know anything,” I said. “No, we know plenty,” Umberto said. “Plenty?” I said confused. “We know where Marx Browne is,” Sammie explained. “We can ask him directly to find out why he paid her to find out who we were.” “He’s a good guy though?” I asked. “That’s why it should be easier to ask him what the deal is.” Umberto said. I kind of understood what he meant. “Thanks Theresa, you have been a big help.” Sammie said. “You, letting me go?” Theresa said. “Obviously, now hurry before we change our minds.” Umberto said waving her off. Theresa looked at all of us before she got up from where she was and dusted herself and walked away. After a bit of silence, I was still confused on what had just transpired. “Can someone explain what just happened?” I said. “Colonel Marx Browne, is the son of the Legendary Albrecht Browne.” Sammie explained. “About 80 years ago Albrecht and a bunch of misfit soldiers, joined forces and created GABE.” “Albrecht, I suppose was one of those misfit soldiers?” I asked. “Yes, he was,” Sammie said. “But Albrecht Browne is a bit more than that,” Umberto said. “What do you mean?” I asked. “When Albrecht had formed GABE, he was the highest ranking Golordian Soldier to have defected against Jason Black.” Sammie explained. “He was called the Bear,” Umberto said. “The Bear?” I asked. “He is a big dude,” Umberto nodded. “How big are we talking about?” I asked. “I don’t know, easily pushing 8 feet from what his service records said.” Umberto said. “He was pushing 500 pounds or something like that.” “What?” I said. If I thought Eugene was a big Fakir Male this Albrecht sounded like a giant. “That is besides the point,” Umberto said. “What is the point then?” I asked. “I don’t get is how you don’t about him,” Umberto said suddenly. “What the hell do you mean?” I asked, and I looked at Walker who shrugged. “That Rhoatian Forest you talked about, that is where GABE had their hideout for years.” Umberto said. “What?” Walker and I said at the same time. I suddenly remembered that when I was wandering around Rho, I had heard something about a rebellion. I just never really paid attention to it. It did not concern me, I had to adjust myself for that first year. Now here I was finding out that we were literally meters away from where these GABE members were at? All of this could not be coincidental. “That son of a!” I cursed. I was starting to mentally curse Hanuman, but I did not curse him for long. There was still one thing that confused me. “Where is Marx Browne?” I asked. “He’s here,” Umberto said. “On this planet I mean.”
