Chapter 4

The creature had turned around when I said that. He remained silent for a while as if deciphering if we had been in the Thoth Library or not. “We saw Osiris there, or that specter of Osiris.” I continued. “That is not possible,” the creature said. “You might have seen a different Library.” “It looked just like this,” I said as I looked around. “You were probably in something similar to this but definitely not the Thoth Library.” The creature said. “Why not?” Walker asked. “The Thoth Library has been lost to time for countless eons,” the creature explained. “Plus, I have seen what you have been in, that is not the Thoth Library.” “How do you know what we have been in?” I said. “Follow me,” the creature said. He led us to some place that made Walker and I look at each other. It was another one of those chambers that had a massive mural drawn all over it. Just like the last one it had a mural. But this mural looked differently. This one started at the library where we had met Osiris. “That is not the Library of Thoth,” the creature said pointing at the mural. I ignored him and looked at the rest of the mural. The next section of the mural had us activating all those different clock tower things, followed up by when we talked to Azazel or whatever that things name was. That was followed by Walker and I appearing at the temple of Damus. That was when the mural showed all the different trials, including facing my younger self, facing Xavier’s specter, facing that lizard creature’s specter, and then appearing here in the dark world. Just like on the one we had seen in Osiris’s murals we saw who we had now as Xavier getting the mask. That was when we saw something different we had not seen earlier: the mural where we were here in this pyramid looking at the mural and talking to the creature. Beyond that was Walker and I encountering 7 figures. Each figure had a different looking color to them, a man with white hair and a sword in his hand was in front of the other 6 and that man had the head of the creature in his hand. “What the devil?” I said. “That’s…” Walker said. “Indeed,” the creature said. We looked at the next mural, this mural had these figures positioned in such a way that it looked like a hand, and this hand was ruining a planet that neither Walker nor I recognized, and then the next mural was black, there were a bunch of murals that were black. Then the last mirror we saw was a man, he looked like he was standing at some sort of lectern, a bunch of people were bowing in front of him and he had this aura of black lightning surging around him. “Who the hell is that now?” I asked. “He appeared shortly after the dark prince had appeared here,” the creature said. “We first thought he was the dark prince, but as you can see he is totally different.” “Yeah there is no way he is Xavier,” I said, and I looked at Walker. “Somehow, he feels worse than Xavier,” Walker said. “When is this supposed to happen?” I asked. “The fact that you are here means that this is about to happen.” The creature said. “Including my death.” “I don’t get it why would they come back?” Walker asked. “That is something we do not know,” The creature said. That was a few days ago. We started pilfering through this library, that was inside of the Pyramid. I had discovered that this library and the Library back on Rho were based on the same architecture, the architecture of the Star Builders. I had also discovered that for some reason the females lived in a totally different part of the city than the males. I wondered why that was and inquired about it. Apparently at some point the male and females had lived together long ago. However, that had all changed when one day through the portal came a man named Caledfwich Onheim. I somehow knew this name, but I could not remember how it was that I knew it. He had come through and claimed he had fallen in love with one of the females of this planet, a female named Ra’Chell. Ever since then, the females and the males were separated. “Is there anyway we can meet them?” Walker asked one day, and I looked at him confused. “I just haven’t seen a girl in a really long time.” He looked embarrassed when he said that. I thought about that for a moment. One of the last females I had seen was Uriel, and she was not the real Uriel, she was a phantom. “Hmm…” the creature said. “That could be a good idea, we need someone to go over there anyways. We have been so busy with repairs from the attack that I had been unable to send anyone over, however you are going to have to look different.” “Me?” I said, “What about the boy?” “Yes, I am not quite worried about him,” he said looking at me. “You think I would do something?” I snorted the creature raised an eyebrow. “Our females are very beautiful, they are probably one of the most sought-after females by even other races, at the time that Caledfwich came here through the portal it was not uncommon for a stranger to fall in love with one of our females.” The creature said. I thought about that for a moment. The memory of Uriel was still in my mind and I must have smiled or something because suddenly the creature looked like he understood me better. “But you do realize I am different your race?” I said. “Ah, you are one who already has someone you have given your heart to.” The creature said, before I retorted, the creature continued. “You may go, but here.” The creature suddenly tapped a nearby symbol that looked like a spiral. A slab of the wall suddenly slid down about 2 feet revealing a strange looking screen. He tapped a couple of things on the screen before it made a ping noise and the screen swung open and he handed me this strange looking thing, it reminded me of a belt. It was white, it had these panels on it that reminded me of solar panels as I had seen back on Rho. “What is this?” I asked looking at the strange looking band. “They will attack you on sight,” the creature said. “Why?” I asked. “Behemet you are a giant silver wolf-thing that walks on it’s hind legs.” Walker said. “The only reason why I didn’t attack you was because those soldiers were chasing after me, when we first met.” “Noted.” I said and hesitantly looked at the belt in the creature’s hands. “What does this do exactly?” “It can change your physical appearance,” the creature explained. “How?” I said. “It’s really hard to explain,” the creature said he quickly put the belt around himself and tapped on the side. The second he did he suddenly looked like he was a member of Walker’s race. “What the hell?” I said. “That is cool,” Walker said. “So, it can change your physical appearance?” I asked. “In simplest terms yes,” The creature said tapping the belt and turning back. He then handed it over to me. “So, all I have to do is wear it and tap this thing?” I said. “In a way yes,” the creature said. “But a word to the wise would be that if you do plan on going over there that you would program it to look female.” “Female!?” I asked bewildered at the idea. “It’s not really going to change you to a female.” The creature said. “I don’t get it why would you say to look female?” Walker said. “The females will more than likely kill him,” The creature said. “You know what screw that, we are not going over there.” I said. “Oh, are you afraid of females, wolf?” the creature asked. “Like hell I am.” I said. “Then you will have no qualms,” the creature said. “Please,” Walker said. “Would I be considered a wolf in sheep’s clothing?” I said snorting.
