The way her chest rose, he could see how tense she was. She stared at him through those dark-rimmed glasses, and her blue eyes were filled with everything he loved about her, but at the same time, he could see her strong sense of self. She wouldn’t give in even though he could feel the chemistry between them, which at one time he would’ve thought was enough.
He knew though, that there was more, way more between them. She wasn’t the kind of woman who would just accept something as truth, as fact, because he realized she was subscribing to a higher principle and wouldn’t be pushed around by the likes of him even though she was wrong about his reasons.
