Chapter 4 - Meeting Again

1067 Words
Hotel The hotel was already impressive, but the room inside made my friends and me even more amazed. The room was incredibly spacious and fully equipped with amenities, as if we were important guests, given how nicely the room was prepared. “Throughout your studies here, the three of you will stay at this hotel. It is part of the chain owned by Mr. Thanadol, the scholarship provider.” “Yes,” my friends and I nodded simultaneously. “I have prepared three rooms for privacy. Don't worry about the expenses; it's free until you finish your studies.” We were even more stunned to learn that we each had our own room, and they were premium rooms for free. Receiving a scholarship to be an exchange student here was truly incredible. This guy took Meen and me to see our rooms, while Cha-em got the first room we saw. He took us up another floor, which was Meen's room. I was curious why we weren't on the same floor, but I didn't dare to ask." After taking Meen to her room, he took me to see mine. I was surprised again when I found out my room was on the top floor of the hotel, while my friends were on the twentieth floor, I was on the fiftieth. Moreover, my room was even more spacious and luxurious than those of my friends. “Why am I in this room? It's so different from my friends' rooms.” “It's an order.” “Who ordered it?” “You'll find out soon.” It felt strange in a way I couldn't quite explain. “In the evening, a stylist will come to take care of your clothes, hair, and makeup. Your role is to follow without speaking or asking questions, let them handle everything. Once done, a car will come to pick you up.” This made me even more confused with such instructions, but I didn't dare to ask much since it was my first day. Once this man finished his business, he left the room. I put my clothes in the closet and chatted with my friends. We were quite tired from the flight, so today was supposed to be a day of rest, but I couldn't relax at all. In the evening, four women rang the doorbell. When I opened the door, they didn't say much and simply took me to have my makeup and hair done. I didn't ask anything because the man had already told me. After the makeover, the four women left. I stood there, looking at myself in the mirror, feeling shy. I had never done my hair and makeup or worn an outfit like this before. The outfit I was wearing was somewhat revealing; it was a dress that showed my back, exposed my cleavage, and was very short. With my face adorned in expensive makeup, I looked much better than my usual simple self, as if the reflection wasn't me at all. When the time came, a hotel staff member called my room to inform me that a car was waiting. I didn't have time to linger in front of the mirror; I had to hurry because being late might get me scolded, especially since I was meeting the scholarship provider's son. The car waiting for me was a limousine, which left me in awe. I never thought I would have the chance to ride in such an expensive car in my life. I'm just a scholarship student, so why are they treating me so well? The luxurious limousine drove away from the hotel. I sat inside, filled with excitement. After almost an hour, the car stopped at an unfamiliar location. It was a hotel, but it looked grander than the one I was staying at. Once I got out of the car, someone was there to greet me and led me inside the hotel. I walked in nervously, feeling the eyes of everyone on me, causing me to lower my head, avoiding eye contact. "He's inside," the staff member said when we reached a room. "Aren't you coming in with me?" "Without permission, I can't go in," he replied. "Oh, okay." It felt very private, which made me a bit uneasy. "Please go ahead. He doesn't like to wait for anyone for long." I nodded in acknowledgment, and he left. I slowly reached out with trembling hands to open the door. The person inside must be quite intimidating. The cool air from the air conditioner hit my skin as soon as I opened the door and stepped inside. It was so cold that it gave me goosebumps all over. My eyes caught sight of the back of a man standing and smoking on the balcony. His figure was captivating; even his back looked impressive. This must be Mr. Plerng, the son of Mr. Thanadon, the scholarship provider. His mere presence was imposing. I slowly stepped forward to the dining table that was set up. It was just the two of us in the room. Ring~ My phone rang, startling me, so I quickly silenced it. However, the man who was smoking on the balcony slowly turned around. My heart nearly skipped a beat when I saw his face, and I exclaimed in my mind, 'So handsome.' It's hard to believe that someone this handsome exists. His physique was impressive, and his face was flawless. "Aren't you going to say hi?" His deep voice snapped me out of my daze. I didn't even know when Khun Plerng had come into the room; he had been standing outside smoking just a moment ago. "Uh, um, hello. My name is Eung-Aey, I'm a scholarship student..." "I already know that." He interrupted before I could finish and walked closer. I froze, barely able to breathe as his sharp features leaned in close. "So we meet again, huh?" His gaze dropped to my lips before he continued, "You still look just as clueless." His greeting left me puzzled. We couldn't possibly have met before, so why did Khun Plerng say that? "H-have we met before?" "Huh!" A chuckle rumbled in his throat. Khun Plerng stood to his full height and walked to another corner of the dining table. It made me think hard about where I might have seen him before, but no matter how much I thought, I couldn't recall.
