The alphas damaged mate

Chapter 7

4 days later

Summer’s POV

Dr Harland has just signed my discharge papers so that I can leave, Theo said I will be staying in his pack house, I don’t know what that is and assume it must be some kind of shared home, I don’t like the thought of sharing with strangers but apparently I will have my own room.

I am sat in a wheelchair due to the casts on my arm and leg wearing a pair of shorts and t-shirt that Grace brought in for me this morning, they are a little baggy which is a good thing because I am really conscious of my scars being on show for everyone to see. Grace is ensuring everything is packed up and Hugo is ready to push the wheelchair while Theo has gone to bring the car round. Once Grace was sure she had everything she opened the door and as we made our way through the hospital I ask “what is a pack house?” “It’s the largest building in the pack” Grace answers “it’s where the Alpha, Beta and Gamma live and work along with some other pack members, as well as where pack meetings and events are held, it also has community areas where pack members can hang out” “do you two live there as well then?” I ask “not since Theo became Alpha” says Hugo “we have our own house on pack lands now” adds Grace.

I am about to ask another question when we go through the hospital doors and see Theo waiting beside a large black 4x4 car, he opens the front passenger side door and effortlessly lifts me inside then fastens my seat belt and closes the door. Looking around I notice that the car is very clean and tidy and looks pretty new, a few moments later Grace and Hugo get into the back then Theo gets into the driver’s seat and says “you ready to go home” with a big smile as he starts the car, nervous and not sure what to say I just smile a little and we drive off.

We have only been driving about 10 minutes when we turn onto a long driveway and up ahead I see a large mansion like building, “what’s that” I ask “that’s the pack house” Theo replies, I just look at it in shock Grace said it was big but I never expected this.

We pull up outside and Theo, Grace and Hugo get out of the car, Grace opens my door and while I wait for my wheelchair a few people come outside, there are a few I recognise that came to the hospital and some new faces, they are all looking at me and smiling not sure what to do I just shyly smile back.

Theo brings the chair round, picks me up and with a massive smile says welcome home and kisses my forehead then sits me in the chair, I say thanks feeling a bit unsure, he had given me a couple of forehead kisses in the hospital and I was never sure how to respond or feel about it, although I would get strange tingly feeling where his lips touched which was confusing and it would always make Celestia purr.

Theo wheel’s me over to where the people were waiting and says “ you already know my Beta Kyle and his mate Sofia and my Gamma Louis and his mate Leah, here is my Delta Grant, he is my best fighter and lead trainer and over here we have some of the pack house workers this is Rose our cook, Rona And Glenda the housekeepers, Cordelia, Jena, Phoebe, Layla and Rina who are assistants helping in the kitchen and with housekeeping, Douglas is the head gardener and groundskeeper then Seth, Ian and Clovis are his assistants.” “Hello everyone” I say with a shy smile not sure how I will remember all those names, “come on then let’s give you the tour” Theo says and wheels me through the doors.

We enter into a large hallway that’s big enough to house a family, I look around in awe, directly ahead there’s a large staircase, the floors and stairs are white marble and the banisters are white with gold detailing. I can see the stairs go off in both directions at the top and it looks like there is another set of stairs going up from that level. On either side of me there is long hallways going of with large windows on one side and doors on the other side of each.

We turn towards the left side as Theo says “let’s start with the left wing this is where the fun happens”, we start down the hall and Theo opens the first door and we go inside, there are three large leather sofas in the middle of the room forming a u shape on a large rug with a very large tv in front of them as well as smaller sofas and armchairs creating seating areas around the room, there is a light natural wood floor and white walls, the left wall is mostly a large window with french doors that open into a big square outdoor area with a lawn, I can see the same style and size window and doors on all side of the lawn area. “This is the communal tv room” Theo says “ all pack members are free to use this room for watching movies or playing video games, directly across the lawn is the communal games room which has a pool/snooker table, arcade machines, pinball tables, board games, dart board etc, mostly popular with the younger pack members.”

We go back out to the hall, as I look down the hall I can see the door to the lawn then the door for the games room at the very end of the hall opposite us there is a set of double doors, like all the other doors they are white with gold detailing but these also have frosted glass panels going down them, “what’s through there I ask” “that is the ballroom” Theo says “I will show you that another time he says, let’s go back to the foyer there are other things I would like to show you first”.

We turn left in the main foyer where there is two doors, the first is a little more than halfway down and as we go in Theo tells me this is the main dinning room where everyone who lives in the pack house eats along with others who might be invited,” it’s a large bright room with light wooden floors and white walls, the tables and chairs are made of a light coloured wood and have red table covers and seat cushions with gold detailing, there is a door on the right hand wall with long tables running along the wall on either side of the door and I can see this is the other room that borders the lawn and there is another large window with double glass doors on the wall at the far end of the room. Back in the foyer Theo tells me the next door along is the kitchen and next to that there is an elevator, we go to the other side of the stairwell and I see another elevator, next to that a door that Theo tells me is the security room, we go past two other doors that I am told are the training room and gym and turn down the other hall which also has large double doors at the end, before we get to those we go into another room “this is the library” Theo says, I look around and see the walls are covered floor to ceiling with completely full book shelves, “ we have pretty much every genre in here if there is anything you would like to read just say and I will get it down for you” he says” “oh, erm th-thats ok I can’t actually read but thank you anyway” “I could teach you if you like” he offers, “ you would do that for me?” I ask surprised, “of course, I would do anything for you” he says “thank you I respond and he smiles.
